Holding this long sword prop actually tested my balance and center of gravity far more than I imagined. Today's Classroom scene was brilliantly chosen: desks and chairs stacked on both sides alongside the blackboard behind created a visual depth that felt both everyday and strikingly contrasting. Once the pink wig and massive rabbit-ear hair accessories were put on, the character's recognizability was instantly established in this Anime-style fashion look.
Costume details are actually much more complex than they appear from afar. The collar of the modified white top is cinched with a red bowtie, while black-and-gold piping is stitched along the shoulders and cuffs, avoiding the plainness of large solid color blocks. The golden circular buckle belt at the waist and red tie cords are key to elongating proportions, while against the pleated skirt, the dark blue hem looks crisp and sharp. Pairing black stockings with black tactical platform boots not only fits the character's original style, but also provides solid visual anchoring down below, making it look fantastic on camera.
For makeup this time, I intentionally chose circular light-purple contact lenses to echo the eye makeup, which paired with pink lip gloss gives the expression a proudly cool composure without losing the character's lively charm. The wig was cut into feathery layers; the above-the-eyebrow bangs combined with hair framing the cheeks flatter the face shape immensely. To present the best outcome, considerable time was spent beforehand adjusting the ear position angle of the hair accessories and the velvet texture of the petals—these delicate nuances represent key accuracy points where live-action cosplay elevates beyond 2D illustrations.
Regarding photography techniques, photographer Ah Piao set a purple-pink lighting tone for this set during the Cosplay photography session. Ambient light in the classroom was naturally cool, and this lighting layout subtly neutralized the overly sweet sensation pink usually carries, adding layers of mystery and storytelling. In the full-body posture of image one, I shifted my weight backward, holding the sword with both hands while turning my head back, striving to convey the character's dignified aura in a battle setting. The close-up in image two focuses more on facial expression rendering, with light and shadow falling softly on the cheek and hilt floral ornaments, delivering a clean visual statement.
Wearing these tall boots and carrying heavy props during location shoots demands genuine physical stamina with every turn and pause. Yet seeing this Honkai: Star Rail character tangibly rendered in the real world on the camera monitor felt deeply satisfying. Paint scratches on those old classroom desks collided beautifully with the character's modern aesthetic, granting these photos studio-grade polish without feeling detached from real-life atmosphere. The fabric selection for this outfit was also meticulous: the white outer material was structured and resistant to wrinkling, easing physical fatigue over time.
Overall, attempting to project the 2D attributes of a game character into a realistic 3D location was a thoroughly enjoyable shoot experience. Prop handling, clothing layering, and atmospheric setup seamlessly merged into these final shots.
