[Yae Miko cosplay] The Pink Adorable Fox in a Pure White Studio

This white studio shoot was mainly intended to highlight the color structure of the outfit itself using a minimalist solid-color background. The white and light-gray Studio shoot backdrop maximizes the elimination of distracting ambient colors, turning the pink hair, red-and-white garments, and golden accessories into visual focal points.

For hair and makeup, I chose a voluminous pink short wig, lightly trimming the layers to capture the lively, fox-like essence from the original lore without looking overly heavy. The small golden horns on top and the golden tassel hooks on both sides were crafted from lightweight materials, giving them a three-dimensional look close to the scalp without shifting during shooting. For eye makeup, slightly elongated eyeliner paired with light-colored contact lenses made the gaze more expressive, while balancing the lightness of the pink palette across the face to ground the character's aura.

Next, regarding the costume details: the halter-neck design of the upper body beautifully showcases the shoulder and neckline, while the white outer garment paired with dark brown chest patchwork looks crisp and capable. The most striking element is the large golden emblem accented with purple, whose specular reflection under studio lights is remarkable, acting as a weighted visual anchor in the frame. The sleeves feature a detached wide-sleeve design with subtle jacquard patterns in the fabric; the red edge piping and cuff tassels add fluid movement to the look. The large red front panel demanded high craftsmanship, as it is embedded with diamond geometric patterns and golden circular rings that require precise alignment, tied with a red knot below that drapes naturally when walking or sitting, flattering the leg lines and softening rigid body transitions.

For props, in addition to the long ritual wand strung with red and white diamond paper streamers, there was also the slender red wand used for styling in the photos. In the seated poses for Photos 2 and 4, holding the paper streamer prop nicely stretched the vertical composition. On my feet, I wore platform Japanese wooden geta clogs; to echo the overall red-and-white costume scheme, the white straps featured small colored accents. These clogs provide great stability during studio shoots, elongate leg proportions better than flats, and add authentic traditional Japanese style outfit charm in close-ups.

Regarding pose design, the single-leg standing shot tested balance significantly, requiring an upright posture and stretched arms. Both Photo 2 and Photo 4 utilized seated postures on a black step stool, where the height variation fostered a more relaxed, lifelike interactive ambiance. Making peace signs or clasping hands allowed the wide sleeves to drape naturally, echoing the flowing gray ribbons in the background. The advantage of a Studio shoot over outdoor locations is the exceptionally even lighting; across standing and seated poses alike, the exposure on the face and outfit remained consistent, with the matte fabric and specular headpiece creating a fine textural contrast.
