Putting together this Sakiko Toyokawa cosplay, the most time-consuming part was definitely the wig. The blue hair required a lot of hairspray for styling, plus braiding across the top of the head and securing the black ribbon bows on both sides. To match that dramatic, theatrical tension characteristic of Ave Mujica, I intentionally used red blending in my eye makeup. Paired with the lace half-face mask, the feeling was instantly there the moment it went on.

As for the costume, the contrasting red and black colors offer the most classic gothic visual. A leather corset was worn over a red puff-sleeve shirt; while aesthetically striking, it was genuinely tight, requiring me to hold my breath while taking photos. The skirt hem features a high-low cut—shorter in the front and longer in the back—with white lace and pleated trims peeking through the black outer layer, creating dynamic layering as I walked. The lower body was paired with black tights (Black stockings) and black lace-up platform boots, which elongated my proportions while adding a dash of edgy rock flair. The gloves were made of sheer black lace, perfectly detailed, though prone to snagging after extended wear, so I had to be very careful during the shoot.

These Convention photos were taken at the Chongqing WACGW anime convention. The lighting at convention venues is notoriously complex, and with the dense, stuffy crowds, walking around in platform boots all day was a real test of stamina. However, photographer @大暮鱼 was fantastic at directing, utilizing the venue corridors and natural light to capture this slightly cool and mysterious atmosphere. When shooting full-body shots, I needed to place my hands on my hips or raise one hand beside my ear to let the silhouette of the skirt spread naturally, properly displaying the structured tailoring of this outfit.

Every time I portray this sort of darker, gothic character, the makeup, styling, and demeanor need to stay taut and focused at all times. Looked at from another angle, that is also one of the greatest joys of being a cosplayer. To keep the garments smooth and unwrinkled, I barely sat down while waiting, fearing I might crease the skirt. Quite a few people recognized the outfit at the convention that day, and I was even pulled in for several photos. Receiving this set of photos made all the fatigue of the day feel completely worthwhile. I hope everyone likes this set, and I'll continue delving into different styles to bring more works at upcoming conventions.
