The costume design for this look boasts incredible visual layering: the main cyan-blue bodice adapts a modern modified cheongsam silhouette featuring cutouts across the chest and waist, bordered by gilded cloud-pattern embroidery, while sheer black mesh sleeves add a touch of airy elegance. To align with this skin's distinct style, the lower half is styled with Black stockings accented by crimson thigh harnesses and metallic rings, paired with platform high-heeled sandals adorned with red pom-poms and gilded flourishes. The hair is arranged in a playfully tousled updo, accessorized with blue-and-red feathered pins and a metallic tassel choker around the neck, establishing a sharp, vibrant color contrast.

Props and staging served as the major focal point of this shoot. To evoke a folkloric, dark-fantasy atmosphere on location, we erected a crossbar wrapped in crimson cordage strung with traditional copper coins and brass bells. The ground was strewn with yellow talisman paper slips inscribed in vermilion, two antique kerosene lanterns, a stack of vintage books, and scattered decorative stones. The polearm prop in hand also received bespoke detailing: the blade tip boasts a translucent ice-crystal or rippling-water texture, while the shaft is bound with red-and-white braided cords and bells. During shooting, the pose in Image 1—perched atop the crossbar—heavily tested core balance, demanding steady equilibrium while showing off clean leg lines and the cutout details along the waist. Image 2 shifts to a standing battle stance with the weapon; both hands gripped the pole firmly while leaning weight forward into an alert, combat-ready posture.

Convention halls notoriously suffer from chaotic ambient light, but the photographer brought professional softboxes to crush the background into shadow, making the subject pop with crisp clarity. The fabrics of the costume caught the light beautifully, particularly the subtle weave of the blue textiles and the shimmering reflection off the golden embroidery. Stepping into the character's eerie, seductive aura amid a bustling, noisy convention took focused concentration. Yu Linglong carries a distinct presence, and the Little zombie skin intensifies her mystical allure. I particularly love how the Black stockings and crimson strapping interact, amping up visual tension while beautifully contouring the legs.

The entire shoot went exceptionally smoothly. The charm of Convention photos lies in harnessing ambient venue light to capture a gritty, behind-the-scenes documentary texture. We poured immense effort into recreating both costume and props, and the final results fully lived up to our expectations. Outfits rooted in Eastern dark fantasy offer expansive freedom for physical choreography; whether looking down from above with icy detachment or asserting commanding presence with a raised polearm, every nuance relies on deliberate body language. This project provided invaluable experience for tackling dark fantasy styles in the future.
