[Amu Hinamori cosplay] Cardcaptor Sakura-themed black and pink cat-style outfit

This time, I shot a Cardcaptor Sakura-themed photoset of Amu Hinamori at the Zhengzhou Shiyue cosplay experience hall. The entire shooting set is very special; the venue is a server room piled with many old electronic devices, filled with black cables of varying thicknesses and monitors glowing with blue light. To match this intertwined cyberpunk and vintage environment, the styling adopts a black glossy leather sleeveless top and shorts, paired with a pink shoulder-length wig, plush cat ears, plush cat paw gloves, and a large tail, with black stockings on the lower body. This strong contrast between black and bright pink creates a huge visual impact under the cool blue background light.
During the shoot, the material of this costume was particularly sensitive to light reflection. The black leather jacket easily produced highlight spots under the warm yellow light of the desk lamp. To ensure texture, the photographer adjusted the light position, used black flags to block some reflections, and combined it with the blue ambient light inherent in the scene, allowing the warm and cool color tones to intersect on the character, highlighting the texture of the skin and clothes. Many people feel that pairing large plush shoes with black stockings on the calves will look bloated, but after the actual photos came out, through specific poses—such as sitting on a metal chair with legs raised, or bending one leg—it was possible to utilize the perspective extension of the wide-angle lens to elongate the leg lines, showcasing a unique playfulness and sexiness.
The actions in this photoset reference a large number of cat-like elements, but rather than being purely cute, they carry a certain sense of strength and aloof glamour. For instance, raising hands into cat paws, or mimicking a cat's sitting posture. In a cluttered environment full of machinery and cables, portraying a character with such pink elements creates a strong sense of intrusion. I particularly enjoyed playing with those thick black corrugated tubes or leaning against the stack of old monitors. Those screens were playing the same frame of animation, and this repetitive element also increased the absurdity of the frame. In the corner, there were also several old CRT televisions and vintage mainframes; the addition of these props gave the scene more layering and forced me to constantly seek new ways of interacting with the lens and props during composition.
To match the pink wig, the makeup used pink-toned eyeshadow and lip gloss for the makeup, emphasizing the contours of the eye makeup. The hair strands of the wig needed to be styled quite fluffy to support the cat ear shape. During shooting breaks, staying in such a space filled with the smell of metal and plastic was actually quite tiring, especially wearing heavy plush shoe covers, but once entering the state and forming a contrast with these cold machines, the tension felt exceptionally strong. Throughout the shoot, to maximize this contrast in atmosphere, I tried many extended poses on the floor and chairs, trying to get the body lines distinctly outlined in the complex background.
Overall, this shooting experience at the Shiyue studio was very special; the environmental details were rich enough to provide plenty of creative space. From styling and lighting to action choreography, every single link was continuously adjusted, and the resulting collision of black and pink, soft and hard, is also the outcome of our team grinding together. After finishing this photoset, I feel I have gained a new understanding of the combination of motorcycle style and cat elements.
