Today I came to the Busan coast to shoot this Sakiko Toyokawa cosplay set. For this session, I prepared the character's classic look from BanG Dream! It's MyGO!!!!!: a navy blue long-sleeved Sailor suit paired with a white collar, meticulously recreating the gray ribbon tie and small golden emblem from the original design. The skirt is a pleated design in navy plaid. To highlight the character's temperament, the wig was chosen in a soft light blue with grayish undertones, styled into long curls and tied on both sides with black ribbon bows. The sunlight on the beach was intensely bright and the ocean wind was quite gusty, presenting quite a challenge during shooting. The wig easily blew out of place in the sea breeze, requiring constant adjustments to the curls. Standing and jumping on the soft sand while wearing black loafers and white crew socks demanded substantial stamina, and sand easily crept into shoes and socks.

During the shoot, I explored diverse poses. The first photo was captured under high noon sunlight, facing the camera with my right hand extended forward—a classic interactive pose that opens up body lines while showcasing the Sailor suit's clean tailoring. The second photo features a leaping motion facing away from the lens, capturing an energetic moment where the skirt naturally billowed from inertia, raising both arms to flash peace signs in a spirited posture. To maintain a clean visual frame, we carefully avoided beach crowds, utilizing red buoys and cresting waves as background elements to add depth to the color palette.

Regarding costume fidelity, the width of the collar stripes and crispness of the skirt pleats were ironed smooth. Before the lens, I focused on pacing my breathing to keep expressions organic and gaze anchored toward the camera. Due to the blinding sunlight, squinting happened involuntarily at times, requiring repeated takes to capture angles where the eyes looked crystal clear. The whole shoot was a real test of patience and stamina. Rather than ornate sets, I much prefer this grounded authenticity under natural light. As someone who loves Casual cosplay, bringing a beloved character from the 2D world to a real-life beach to feel the wind and sun is an immensely joyful experience in itself.

To withstand shooting under the bright sun, I used waterproof and sweat-resistant base makeup, emphasizing lashes and eyeliner around the eyes, and chose light brown colored contacts to complement the pastel hair tone. Sunscreen had to be reapplied constantly between takes. Since this was a solo session without band instrument props, everything relied purely on costume and body language. The jumping action took over a dozen attempts to freeze the precise instant where both the billowing skirt and facial expression aligned. The sand reflected intense glare, testing both eyes and camera metering. Despite the exhaustion, seeing the sky, sea, and navy uniform blend into a unified blue palette made it completely worthwhile. Although long-sleeved, this Sailor suit was undeniably sweltering on a 30-degree beach. While forming a band has become a community meme, the character's isolation and relentless dedication to music are vital parts of her core lore. Standing before the boundless sea during Beach photography truly evokes a quiet, solitary atmosphere that harmonizes naturally with her traits.

This shoot granted me valuable insights into capturing uniform cosplay by the sea. Under harsh sunlight, knowing how to seek shade or utilize side-backlighting enhances hair and fabric textures immensely. Packing up to leave, the gritty texture of sea sand still clung to my skin—a signature badge of outdoor location shoots. From wardrobe selection and makeup trials to on-site posing direction, every step demanded genuine dedication. I hope this photo set conveys the character's unique ambiance, while preserving a fulfilling chapter spent along Busan's shores.
