This outfit worn to the convention today was truly a love-hate relationship. What I loved was the silhouette of the Sailor suit paired with the plaid pleated skirt, complemented by the long gradient teal-blue hair—the moment I stood before the mirror, everything felt spot-on for an Anime girl look. What I hated was that the top hem was slightly short, so relaxing my posture even a bit would cause my little tummy to sneak out. In the first photo with both fists clenched, I was actually secretly sucking in my stomach, though the camera still managed to capture a hint of contour. I guess to get great photos, keeping a closer eye on my diet is unavoidable.

To recreate the character's serene yet subtly playful temperament, I invested heavily in makeup. The wig chosen had a silver-white base with teal gradient tips. The cyan-green horn-like ornament on top was custom-made, requiring multiple bobby pins secured to the slate-blue headband so it wouldn't easily fall off while walking around the hall all day. Purple contact lenses were chosen, complemented by pink-toned blush and glossy lip tint, instantly shifting the entire persona.

Sitting on the floor for the second photo really tested the arrangement of the skirt. Plaid pleated skirts easily get rumpled when seated, so I adjusted the pleats' direction slightly and rested the bouquet in front of me. This bouquet was gifted by a friend at the convention; the blue hydrangeas and pink roses matched the outfit's color palette surprisingly well. For footwear, I opted for glossy black leather shoes paired with white pantyhose. Speaking of White stockings, while these tights look lovely, wearing them at a summer convention gets rather stuffy, and moving around makes them slip down easily, so I used a clever trick at the waistband to keep them firmly in place.

The fabric of the top has a supple chiffon-like drape. The puff-sleeve design looks pretty, but raising my arms proved restrictive—touching my head or reaching high created slight tugging under the armpits. The Sailor suit collar lines are very exacting, needing to be pressed crisp and flat to project texture before the camera. The necktie was reinforced with pins to avoid shifting in crowded halls.

The convention floor was bustling, with photographers constantly pulling me for shots. This Sailor suit cut accentuates the figure nicely, especially the cyan plaid bow on the chest with golden accents, which draws the eye. Although holding in my stomach for every pose was exhausting, seeing the photo results made all the effort worthwhile. As an experienced cosplayer, I value not just wardrobe fidelity but also overall atmospheric delivery; while black crew socks would have looked fine, I still chose full-length White stockings to better fit the obedient charm of a classic Sailor suit.

Lighting at conventions is notoriously complex, and overhead lighting casts harsh shadows across the face. The first shot was taken in an open hall corridor with many passersby, but thankfully the photographer used a wide aperture to blur the background cleanly, preventing clutter. The second sitting shot was actually taken because my feet were tired, and finding an empty corner gave me a moment to rest.

To be candid, I leaned out a bit before wearing this outfit, but the cropped tailoring makes relaxing even slightly show a bit of tummy. When I mention seeing my little belly, I'm just explaining why I always feel a bit self-critical. In hindsight, there is always a barrier between 2D and real life; as long as the character's core aura is captured, a little softness is actually quite endearing.

I truly love the composition of the second photo: sitting sideways on the floor holding the bouquet with legs gently crossed, White stockings wrapping the ankles into glossy black shoes, visually creating a clash of softness and structure. The bouquet's pastel pink and blue harmonized beautifully with the outfit's cyan and slate-blue hues.

Finally, finding a quiet spot at the edge of the venue to rest allowed for this bouquet-holding snap. A breeze ruffled the skirt pleats, lending an effortless daily touch. Now comes the task of organizing all the convention photos—looks like another late night of editing.
