The fitting photos for Murasame from YUZU SOFT's Senren*Banka are finally compiled, so let's start with the costume. The Sailor suit top features a subtle teal-green hue paired with a white inner lining and a red ribbon tie, offering a very high degree of fidelity. The skirt's grayish-black base is printed with red-and-white star patterns, and the white sawtooth hemline is truly the soul of the outfit. Paired with white over-the-knee socks, the layered aesthetic comes together instantly, and the White stockings provide great elasticity without sliding down.
For the hair, a bright light-green wig was styled into twintails, with delicate light blue ribbons accenting the ends and head ornaments. Trimming the bangs was the trickiest part of the styling, requiring the hair strands to flow as cleanly and smoothly as the in-game sprite. For eye makeup, since Murasame features red eyes, I opted for a fine inner eyeliner blended with reddish eyeshadow, slightly extending the outer corners to give her gaze a more vibrant and spirited look.
This studio shoot took place in front of a clean white background wall, with a white round podium placed underfoot to better highlight the subject. We kept the makeup clean and translucent throughout the shoot, while post-editing emphasized a fair skin tone, the sleek contour of the White stockings, and the shadowy pleats of the skirt. The second photo standing with the prop turned out best visually—the center of gravity rests stably in the middle of the podium with a crisp composition free of messy background distractions. The third photo was an impromptu interactive angle using a small prop to partially cover the face, leaving room to imagine a playful wink.
Posing in front of the lens in the full gear revealed the outfit's natural restrictions on body movement, as the pleated skirt is relatively stiff and requires controlled poses. Yet, this slightly restrained posture actually highlighted the character's demure and charming personality even better. Great care went into both the fabric selection and wig trimming, and the final results completely met my expectations for this character. Documenting every step from fitting to shooting serves as a wonderful personal keepsake.
