[Ukinami Yuzuha Cosplay] Freezing the Last Trace of Summer in a Bubble

This time, I chose to shoot Ukinami Yuzuha's summer swimsuit look from Zenless Zone Zero. From finalizing the theme to the completed photos, the entire preparation took about two weeks.

What moved me most about this styling is the combination of Red hair twin tails with a white swimsuit. I first trimmed the wig to create layered bangs; the braided Red hair twin tails paired with pinkish-purple bows at the tips perfectly matched the energetic feel of the original design. Regarding props, the rubber duck pendant and chest tactical harness accessory served as visual focal points. The black straps accented with gray, yellow, and blue color blocks added a techwear edge, keeping the swimsuit from looking too plain.

On the day of the shoot, we chose a summer-themed studio featuring water-surface reflection effects, with mirrored blue film laid across the floor to simulate reflections in shallow water. The artificial blue sky and white clouds backdrop, combined with scattered faux tropical greenery and seashells, instantly maximized the vacation Summer style. During the shoot, sitting in that massive transparent inflatable bubble chair alongside the lemonade cup and clear umbrella, I strove to embody the relaxed ease of a seaside day.

For this photo set, I also paid special attention to outfit details: the white thigh garter ring, the small bandage on the knee, and the blue-and-white checkered fabric wrapped around my arm. These subtle touches not only flatter body proportions, but also reinforce the character's tactical tech-girl persona. The gray mechanical clasp and small yellow and blue modules on the chest stood out vibrantly against the white base swimsuit.

In terms of posing, the photographer and I explored several angles. When seated, the natural extension of the legs elongated the silhouette, while the sandals exposed foot contours to project a languid summer vacation ease. When standing slightly sideways, holding the cup both showcased the prop and added a playful touch. Finally, holding up the transparent umbrella was aimed at capturing that sun-drenched, overexposed translucent effect.

Of course, shooting such outdoor-style photos in hot weather came with its challenges. Although shot in an indoor studio, the combination of warm overhead lights and the semi-enclosed bubble chair environment made it genuinely sweltering. The red wig stuck to my forehead and sweat ran down my neck, perfectly simulating the authentic aftermath of playing in the water under a blazing sun. This actually served as a fantastic atmospheric bonus, allowing me to step into character naturally without forcing an energetic performance.

In post-processing, we strove to preserve the original blue-and-white palette without excessive sharpening or over-boosting contrast, aiming to retain that dreamy, misty moisture in the air. The vibrant yellow of the rubber duck and the purple highlights at the hair ends served as accents against the cool-toned backdrop, achieving a balanced color harmony across the photo.

All in all, this Ukinami Yuzuha Cosplay summer swimsuit set was not merely a visual recreation, but also an extended exploration of the character's slice-of-life state within a curated setting. From prop crafting to on-set improvisation, the entire process was filled with joy, and the final refreshing aesthetic aligned perfectly with the theme of capturing the very last taste of summer in Zenless Zone Zero.
