[Ardashir cosplay] Anime convention daily life On-Site Log: Checking in with Robin's Hanging Scroll - Image 1

Seeing my friend cosplay Ardashir, I immediately went and ordered this hanging scroll, while organizing a Robin cosplay on my end. Today at the anime convention, we finally brought this photo set to life. To do justice to Robin in 2D cosplay, a lot of thought went into the wig and makeup. I chose a long, light purple wig with slightly layered ends, paired with a yellow circular hairpiece and pearl flower accents, making the overall silhouette better align with her presence. For makeup, green contact lenses were a must; I selected warm orange eyeshadow to reflect character accents, applied relatively thick lashes to accentuate the eyes, and deliberately drew orange hearts onto the cheeks. The earrings were silver star-and-moon pendants, matched with a blue choker bearing an orange embellishment at the neck, and nails painted in an orange gradient. The outfit featured a light-colored off-the-shoulder top, keeping the styling clean yet rich in detail. I picked a sheer liquid foundation base, and along with blending orange eyeshadow across a wide area, deepened the outer corners of the eyes. The green contact lenses brightened the gaze, which, paired with the light purple wig, unified the overall color scheme in a harmonious contrast of cool and warm tones. Though small, the choker and earrings greatly enhanced character accuracy; while these minor accessories rarely fall off during an event, they still needed secure fastening while dressing. My friend took on Ardashir cosplay this time, clad in solid black paired with a silver-gray low ponytail wig and black horn-shaped hairpieces. On site, my friend squatted directly on the floor, holding up the elongated scroll with both hands; its top featured an intricate dark dimensional ornament, and within the scroll unrolled a minimalist, doodle-style chibi character. Beside them sat a brown bag and a metal suitcase, while I also brought a brown hard-shell suitcase from which massive purple feather props extended. The hanging scroll my friend drew was delightful—a cute doodle with a big head and small body, clutching a walking cane. For easy transport around the convention floor, we mounted the scroll inside a wooden frame topped with 3D ornamental attachments. As we shot, passing attendees took curious glances at the prop; props with a handmade touch are genuinely far more memorable than mass-produced pieces. To complement Robin's look, the light off-the-shoulder top offered great comfort for walking around the venue, though keeping the wig and makeup immaculate demanded constant vigilance. We scouted a spot with lighter foot traffic on the hall's wood-grain flooring to begin shooting. Even with people moving back and forth and a cluttered distant backdrop, the overall color temperature of the ambient light was quite pleasant, yielding clear and translucent skin tones. I opted for a high-angle selfie perspective, tilting slightly down to capture both my friend and the hanging scroll in frame. To avoid obstructing the scroll, I stood sideways beside the suitcase flashing a peace sign, designing the composition to weave people and props together naturally. Cosplaying at conventions truly tests physical stamina, particularly for sessions involving large luggage and oversized props. To achieve satisfying visuals, we planned prop placements in advance and kept touch-up kits handy. The purple feather prop displayed lovely texture under the light, though carrying it required caution to prevent crushing. The shoot remained delightfully relaxed—free of rigid, complex posing, focusing instead on capturing the authentic reality of our Anime convention daily life. Bringing favorite characters to life alongside close friends at a convention is profoundly rewarding in itself. Despite limited lighting and venue constraints, thorough styling and makeup always ensure satisfying results. This set serves as a log of our convention day, and more convention hall snapshots will be organized soon.
