Shooting Ukinami Yuzuha this time was truly a challenge to my physical limits. Yuzuha is brimming with vibrant energy, and those poses that appear effortlessly cheerful are actually an extreme test of core strength. From leaping with that massive red umbrella on blue mesh grating and kicking up a single leg, to striking dynamic, expansive stances to complement the ultra-wide lens, every single shot required holding my breath and clenching my core. But the resulting impact was undeniably phenomenal: the ultra-wide angle combined with low-angle framing stretched the proportions of the architecture and figure dramatically, making the crimson umbrella and fiery hair pop intensely against the vivid yellow industrial cranes.
Regarding the props, that red umbrella holds an immense amount of detail; the canopy patterns and mechanical ribs carry real weight, leaving my arms sore after extended poses while lending genuine authenticity to every motion. The outfit combines a pink cardigan with a pleated skirt and striped Over-the-knee socks, rounded out with chunky combat boots—creating a look that balances girlish charm with an edgy, cool street style. To recreate that cheeky, playful persona, I continuously experimented with different micro-expressions and body language. Skipping and jumping across the blue grating made me feel completely absorbed into this surreal environment. Though the platform boots were heavy, pacing through the industrial set gave every step a punchy rhythm.
Throughout the session, the long hair and colorful ribbons kept tangling or blowing wildly in the breeze, requiring constant repositioning to keep the frame clean. Several shots were taken backlit, with sunlight forming a luminous halo along the hair strands; even though the glare made it hard to keep my eyes open, the warm ambient mood was breathtaking. Poses requiring deep squats or extreme forward leans demanded precise balance, where a split-second lapse would throw off my center of gravity. For example, squatting on the grate while extending a hand meant keeping my core engaged the entire time.
Special thanks to photographer and pose director 渊澄酒酒 (Yuancheng Jiujiu) for coaching me on making movements broader and more dynamic, capturing so many vibrant, fleeting moments. Huge gratitude also goes to my assistants 酉兔 (Youtu) and 空白 (Kongbai) for constantly detangling those colorful ribbons and smoothing the skirt—thank you so much for the hard work! The outdoor sun was glaring, making focus difficult under harsh backlight, yet in an industrial venue, the stark contrast of light and shadow enriched the photos with even deeper texture. Trying all these bold dynamic poses was exhausting but immensely thrilling, completely unleashing the character's spirited energy. Glancing back over my shoulder with the umbrella actually strained my neck under the weight of the mechanical headphone headset, but I adore this expressive, high-tension dynamism. Far more than standing still, these character-defining actions let me dive headfirst into the role, and I hope this vivid energy reaches everyone who sees these photos.
