[Fu Hua cosplay] Honkai Impact 3rd Crane of Taixuan: Sharpness Amidst the Black-and-White Go Board

The key to the Crane of Taixuan styling lies in embodying the character's presence and utilizing the props effectively; throughout the shoot, I kept thinking about how to convey that composed yet razor-sharp sensation. The set was decorated with red maple leaves and a black-and-white Go board, with this classical atmosphere greatly enhancing the character's conviction in this Ancient style cosplay.

Speaking of props, these golden claws look magnificent, but they truly tested wrist support and stamina. To stay fully in character, posing required projecting sharpness while carefully avoiding snagging the costume or scratching the Go board. Fortunately, through seamless synergy with the photographer and adjusting angles multiple times, we finally captured that tense, intimidating presence with the blades pointing straight at the lens. The details of the red cords and golden bracers looked extraordinarily photogenic on camera.

Hair and makeup were crucial for character fidelity. The silver-white hair blended with black highlights didn't appear gaudy when worn; instead, it lent an intensely cool, aloof air. For the face, red contacts were paired with deep eye makeup, and I spent a long time in front of the mirror practicing that worldly, detached gaze. Trimming and styling the wig took quite a while just to achieve a natural arch for the high ponytail.

Costume-wise, the red, black, and white colorway is flattering on body proportions, while the off-shoulder cut and arm strap design exude a sense of strength. During shooting, capturing that regal poise of still water harboring latent motion was essential—especially the tension of resting a hand casually on the Go board while looking poised to strike at any moment.

The shoot took over half a day, requiring me not only to hold character poses but also to coordinate with depth of field, light, and shadow. Ancient tomes, Go pieces, candlesticks, and porcelain—every prop placement served a purpose, further enriching the protagonist's narrative depth in these Photographic works. Leaning into the nearby maple leaves heightened color contrast, capturing many emotion-filled moments.

This cosplay experience was truly unforgettable—not only wearing such a gorgeous outfit, but also experiencing the challenge of mastering the commanding aura of such a stoic character. I hope these photos showcase that quiet, poised sharpness of Fu Hua from Honkai Impact 3rd.
