[Fu Hua cosplay] Honkai Impact 3rd Azure Empyrea and Azure Court's Rendezvous of Light and Shadow

This shoot can be considered a brand-new visual expression combining Fu Hua's Azure Empyrea and Azure Court elements. The shooting location was chosen in an old church featuring wooden benches and arched windows; the spatial depth of the environment itself, combined with that solemn color tone, was particularly suited to the atmosphere of this outfit. The dress features a three-color splicing of blue, white, and purple, with a large amount of layered lace and tulle treatments throughout. The upper body's halter off-the-shoulder design is paired with pearl chains. To maintain the dress's drape in front of the lens, quite a few anti-slip stickers and fishing lines were used prior to shooting to fix the tulle on the shoulders. The headpiece has many details, with that iridescent butterfly and dark wing hair clips being positions that required focused adjustment; even a slight deviation would affect the silhouette of the overall head shape.

In terms of props, that blue paper bird is a very crucial visual guide. While shooting by the window, I reached out my hand to catch it, and the photographer Xi captured this moment. Because it is made of paper material, it has a semi-translucent texture under natural light, and coupled with side-backlighting, the bird's outline could be clearly seen. The church's lighting was particularly interesting; around 2 or 3 PM, sunlight shone through the arched wooden windows, creating very distinct light spots. When I stood by the window holding the paper bird, the light happened to hit the semi-translucent sleeves, resulting in a very transparent effect.

The low-key lighting in the second picture actually took quite a bit of effort to shoot. With the background cross in the shadow, I needed to kneel on the wooden floor with my hands clasped together in a praying posture. The floating feathers around me were tossed by staff members outside the lens, and to catch the best state of the feathers in the air, this action was repeated several times. Not only did I need to control my facial expression to remain calm, but I also had to make the skirt hem spread out on the ground in a nice fan shape. Kneeling for a long time made my knees indeed sore and painful, but seeing the contrast between light and shade and the suspension feeling of the feathers in the final photos made this trip thoroughly worth it. The hidden patterns and pearl decorations on the clothing had a great texture under strong light, and these small details were all preserved in the close-up shots.

Cosplaying the character Fu Hua is not unfamiliar to me; she possesses a calm and ethereal temperament. Whether it is the ethereal flow of Azure Empyrea or the lively agility of Azure Court, both require a bit of restraint in movements, avoiding overly exaggerated body language. Conveying that transcendent feeling beyond the worldly realm is achieved through the gaze and hand gestures. The pattern sizing of this outfit actually imposes quite a restriction on movements, especially during sitting posture shooting, where the skirt hem needs to be neatly arranged layer by layer to avoid looking overly bulky. The styling of the wig also took nearly two hours to groom, as it was necessary to ensure it wouldn't look messy under any angle in front of the lens. The overall shooting process was extremely pleasant, from the makeup and grooming to the refinement of clothing details, and cooperating with the photographer to find the light, every single step poured a lot of energy into it.
