[Asahina Mafuyu cosplay] Project Sekai Cold-Vibe Record Against a Pure White Background - Image 1

A lot of thought went into adjusting the pattern for this Asahina Mafuyu costume. The pleats and gradient effect of the outer skirt hem are the key points; to capture layering against a pure white background, I deliberately chose a matte material for the blue-gray inner lining to avoid reflection. The criss-cross straps and print positions on the chest were positioned point-by-point against the original art, and the tying method of the silver string around the waist was also researched for a long time to ensure it looks natural and matches the original design's sense of detachment. The wig was chosen in dark purple high-temperature fiber, with the bangs trimmed flat, but the sideburns on both sides have a slight curve to flatter the face shape. The dark horn-like hair accessories on both sides of the top of the head used lightweight materials, so they won't easily fall off during large movements.

In terms of makeup, to match Mafuyu's unique aloof feel, the base makeup was applied quite fair and clean, with the focus placed on eye makeup. The contact lenses were chosen in a warm brownish-orange style, making the eyes look more translucent under the pure white high-key light. The white plush neck guard on the neck looks very warm, but in a studio with strong lighting, the perceived temperature is actually quite high, so I had to hurry up and get some air during shooting breaks. The slightly curled hair ends of the wig are actually very prone to tangling, so during every break between position changes, I had to use a special wig care spray to gently comb them and maintain the draping feel.

The dark long gloves on the costume were a relatively difficult point to handle in this shoot; there must be no wrinkles at the junction between the puff sleeves and the long gloves, and when striking hand gestures, the lines should be kept as stretched out as possible. The lower body was paired with semi-sheer white stockings; to match the overall color tone, the highlights on the legs received specialized softening treatment during lighting. There is actually a supporting strap structure inside the skirt, so even when holding the skirt hem with both hands and flinging it outward, the skirt can maintain a beautiful radial spread. To prevent the skirt from flying up excessively, the inner safety shorts were also lengthened to ensure there is no risk of wardrobe malfunctions during dynamic candid shots.

In terms of pose design, to highlight the dynamic feel of the flying skirt, both arms were raised and spread horizontally to both sides, and the position of the center of gravity was tested multiple times to ensure it still looked natural when standing with legs apart. Because high-key lighting easily washes out the details of white clothing, the body angle was constantly fine-tuned during shooting to make the shadows on the skirt and the highlights of the ruffles more distinct. Although this pair of white pointed-toe low heels is not very high, standing and shooting for a long time still required adaptation. Although the overall movement range is not large, maintaining a puffed-chest and pulled-in-abdomen state the whole time is actually quite physically demanding.

The entire production and shooting process was aimed at making the final presentation match the visual expectation of Mafuyu in my mind. There's no need for too many complex emotional expressions; simply through the layers of clothing, the flying angle, and body language, it conveys this quiet state with a certain sense of detachment. Every time I tidied up the wrinkles and adjusted the hair strands, it was to make the image closer to the atmosphere of the original setting. During post-processing, I also tried my best to preserve the purity of this high-key light, only making slight adjustments to the color balance to make the blue-purple tone of the costume more vibrant.
