When I first received this blue and white dress, I felt its substantial weight, but only after putting it on did I realize its layering was far more intricate than it looked. The outer layer is a sheer veil radiating a soft halo, while the inside is a structured pure white puff skirt; paired with gold trim and pearl chain ornaments on the deep blue corset, every detail required different angles to present during shooting. For our Church photography setting, we specifically selected this Gothic-style vintage church—its mottled gray-blue walls and finely carved archways matched the cool tones of the dress surprisingly well.

The lighting on the day of the shoot was actually not ideal—it was overcast diffuse light without direct sunlight, which inadvertently draped the entire scene in a soft, melancholic cool tone. The photographer @可乐泡枸杞啊 is skilled at capturing this atmosphere; rather than forcing strong fill lights, he utilized the architecture's inherent shadows and doorway depth to let light fall naturally from the sides and above. To express the skirt's flowing movement, we repeatedly tested several poses. In Photo 1 and Photo 4, fully opening both arms with a slightly lifted center of gravity allowed the sheer fabric on both sides to drape naturally and spread outward, yielding a visual effect reminiscent of wings or spreading water streams. Meanwhile, lifting the skirt hem with slightly bent knees highlighted the waist's cinched silhouette and leg lines—since the skirt itself is paneled, lifting it revealed the white underskirt and bare feet inside, making the lower body look even airier. That ethereal, floating lightness was precisely one of the character traits this look aimed to convey.

Actually, the most challenging aspect of this outfit was the length and weight of the skirt. When attempting to create that airy, billowing veil feel, both hands must exert power simultaneously to control the flow of every single panel of gauze. Shooting barefoot was also a spontaneous decision—we felt wearing conventional shoes would ruin that innocent and free visual association. Stepping barefoot onto the cool gray pavement was a bit chilly, but the captured imagery felt much closer to the character's pure, ethereal, yet subtly rebellious cool temperament.

For makeup, I avoided heavy eyeshadow and only used subtle grayish-blue smudging at the outer eye corners, paired with light pale-blue hair color and that signature forehead curl, giving the facial expression a softer and quieter look. During post-processing color grading, we lowered color temperature to a cooler side and slightly increased contrast to highlight the architectural textures and the outfit's gold accents, while retaining gray-blue tones in shadow areas. Consequently, the visual logic across the photos became cohesive—blue, white, gray, and gold interlaced seamlessly without looking cluttered in this Anime-style fashion portrait.

I am actually particularly satisfied with the raised-arm posture in Photo 3 and Photo 6—raising the left hand high to pinch the right veil's edge with a slight torso turn, which showcased arm lines while allowing the skirt to slant naturally. Coupled with the background's symmetrical door and window architecture, it created a dynamic sense of balance. The entire shoot took about two hours, continuously adjusting positions, skirt placement, and hand heights, but @可乐泡枸杞啊 was immensely patient, constantly waiting for the wind to arrive and light to fall.

Sharing this photo set isn't to prove anything, but simply feeling that this look deserved to be recorded within this setting. The costume's material truly felt like it was breathing under the lens—especially the sheer illusion mesh near the shoulders and the gold thread embroidery on the wrists, where physical textures were even finer than in photos. The final selected shots are those I personally feel carry the most accurate emotion and neatest compositions. The church's pointed arch windows and heavy wooden doors paired with such a cool, ethereal outfit naturally formed a quiet storytelling atmosphere. I hope everyone can feel that tranquility and elegance from the imagery; no elaborate explanations needed, just enjoy the view.
