[Vivian cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero AMM Comic Convention Day 1: Casual Raw Photo Share

Entering on the first day of the AMM Comic Convention Dimensional Wave event, although scheduling delays caused me to arrive quite late—missing several photo opportunities and meetups—the day was still thoroughly fulfilling. This time I cosplayed Vivian from Zenless Zone Zero, meticulously prepping my costume, makeup, and props before heading out to achieve the closest representation of the character. Since my overall condition was on point today, I indulged a bit and decided to share unedited raw photos straight out of camera.

The costume features a high-neck white inner top tied with an exquisite large dark-blue bow at the collar, paired with a leather-textured vest to create a look that is both graceful and sharp. The dark-blue bow atop the white-highlighted wig, along with the signature elongated elf ears, instantly maximized character recognizability. The umbrella prop was also a seamless match: its canopy adorned with black, white, and purple petal motifs and bird silhouettes created a harmonious color interaction with the entire outfit when opened. Furthermore, layering black over-the-knee socks under the white pleated skirt brought great visual contours, making this black tights outfit stand out brilliantly under the exhibition hall's bright lighting.

I put extra thought into the eye makeup this time: red colored contacts paired with dark shading blended at the outer corners of the eyes struck a balance between everyday realism and a cool aloofness, fitting the character's temperament perfectly. The wig's volume and bangs were styled and set in advance; even though traveling and changing clothes caused minor disarray, securing the hair accessories kept the overall flow intact. Lighting across the convention venue was rather complex, but feeling in good shape helped me stay relaxed in front of the lens. Personally, I really love the third photo's composition with the umbrella, which neatly captures the character's facial expression, the prop, and the intricate details of the long black socks.

Honestly, getting into the venue had its share of hiccups, so I didn't make it inside until noon. Seeing many creators sharing their convention photos early online made me genuinely envious, as arriving late meant many photographers and cosplayers had already left! Walking through the halls, I noticed several booths were wrapping up, and many cosplayers had already changed back into everyday clothes, making it a pity that I couldn't interact with them on-site. However, the photographers were very kind; despite the tight schedule, we still captured several shots I'm really pleased with. The ambient atmosphere of today's photos left me thoroughly satisfied—it not only brought my vision of the character to life, but also preserved the authentic, bustling convention vibe.

Getting convention photo returns every time is like opening a blind box; I always look forward to seeing everyone's angles and compositions. Although I'm not particularly skilled at heavy post-processing and prefer sharing pictures that preserve raw authenticity, that doesn't diminish my love for genuine unedited shots in the slightest. This costume naturally yielded a high-end feel under the venue lights, delivering pleasing visual quality from shadow retention to highlight transitions. For this look, I deliberately reined in overly exaggerated elements in both outfit and hairstyle in favor of a more natural anime-style vibe, which also made moving around and posing much more convenient.

The true meaning of a comic convention lies not only in showcasing a character, but also in documenting one's own journey of participation. Although there were slight regrets today from missing out on photo shoots with many great creators, the moments preserved here are nonetheless deeply memorable. If similar conventions and opportunities come up in the future, I will manage my schedule well in advance to catch the early hours, leaving more time and room to connect, communicate, and learn face-to-face with everyone, slowly savoring the authentic charm of convention culture.
