The shooting location was a winter snow estate, where the warm fairy lights in the background contrasted beautifully with the cool tones of the Snow scene, perfectly matching the character's aloof yet gentle Atmosphere. For this styling, the white double-breasted coat, blue long scarf, silver-white twintail wig, and elf ears were crucial in recreating that effortless, lazy charm from the original manga. Putting on the elf ears took considerable care, using prosthetic adhesive and blending skin tones to make them look seamless on camera. To reflect an elf's otherworldly temperament in the eye makeup, I selected pale grey-green contacts paired with white-tinted brows, lending a more ethereal gaze. The staff prop was custom-crafted, featuring a red shaft crowned by a golden crescent and a substantial ruby at the tip with great texture and weight. The small brown wooden suitcase was the crowning touch, accentuating the traveler's aura and lived-in touch.
It was actually freezing during the shoot; to maintain natural body language, I repeatedly adjusted how I gripped the staff and the positioning of my legs while standing. Among this photo set, my favorite is the full-body composition: standing in the Snow scene wearing Black stockings paired with brown leather boots, effectively showcasing slender leg lines, while holding the wooden case brought a wonderful overall balance. In the close-ups, biting a blue rose broke through the character's surface aloofness with a slightly childlike yet serene gesture. For makeup, a fair porcelain foundation was used, with blush placed mainly under the eyes, harmonizing with slightly downturned eyeliner to evoke a subtly plaintive yet comforting, healing expression. Together with the plush texture of the aqua blue scarf against the snowy backdrop, it truly conveyed that quiet, enduring sense of an endless lifespan.
The set dressing was also meticulously curated: snow-draped trees and soft bokeh blurring the light strings kept the visual mood from feeling too bleak or desolate. The session lasted quite a while, requiring continuous adjustments between props, wardrobe, and makeup, but the final outcome matched our expectations beautifully. In post-processing, cool tones were carefully preserved to accentuate the pure white of the snow and the blue of the scarf. I hope everyone can feel that subtle, tender loneliness of a character who has traversed vast stretches of time.
