Shooting the "Song of Immortal Life" gown theme for Phrolova from Wuthering Waves this time, I specially selected a vintage Baroque style scene to echo the interwoven atmosphere of gorgeousness and melancholy in the character's setting. The gauze texture of the skirt hem presents subtle layers under the light, and its color-blocking combination with the red lycoris and ribbons is the most central visual anchor of this look. I specifically chose a few shots featuring a handheld violin and a bouquet, wanting to convey a character tension that looks light on the surface but actually carries deep weight. Although the line "She wouldn't care about the rain; her life has been an endless downpour anyway" from the theme carries a strong sense of fatalism, the live light and shadow during the actual shoot were unexpectedly warm. To make the fluid movement of the skirt hem and the subtle patterns on the white stockings clear enough in the final photos, we repeatedly adjusted the positions of the sofa and the mirror, using natural light supplemented by a warm-toned light source to tone down the vividness of the red silk, giving the overall color palette more of a vintage oil painting texture. This was also my first time trying large movements within such a tight dress structure; thanks to the repeated modifications of the costume details beforehand, actions like lifting my arm or lowering my head look less stiff. The wig's hair color was also specially adjusted—the mint green combined with the dark wood color in the room feels a bit cool, which perfectly matches Phrolova's distinct cool detachment. The most satisfying shot among the final photos is the front close-up of playing the violin, where the gaze and the position of the bow string perfectly overlap, leaving a quiet moment for this theme.
