This set of photos is a Jeanne d'Arc (Alter) cosplay photoshoot captured under the interweaving of red curtains and candlelight. The red and black color scheme runs through the entire costume and set design, matching perfectly with the lazy yet slightly oppressive atmosphere I had envisioned.

The costume this time focuses on restoring the iconic design of Jeanne d'Arc (Alter), adopting a strapless black corset to showcase the neck and shoulder lines, with crisscross straps and semi-transparent mesh details added to the chest to allow the overall styling to retain some breathing room amidst the heavy dark tones. The black wide choker with a four-leaf clover decoration on the neck is one of the visual centers of the entire outfit, with the fine chain below adding layers. The cuffs are pieced with exaggerated bright red ruffles, forming a visual tension of contrasting colors; the black and red fabrics of the skirt hem interweave together, spreading out naturally with sitting or standing postures to offer a very rich texture. Black stockings are paired on the legs, with vibrant red butterfly bow ribbons tied at the ankles, forming a top-to-bottom echo with the shoes and the red elements of the upper body.

The on-site layout uses a high-backed dark red leather sofa, paired with a heavy, beautifully draped dark red velvet curtain backdrop behind it, plus slightly flickering candlelight and tall glass goblets, giving the entire scene a full sense of European court vintage style. The black grapes placed on the table count as a great prop embellishment, adding a touch of daily life feel and lazy comfort to the frame.

The photographer was particularly particular about light and shadow treatment, casting warm-toned soft light onto the white hair and skin to create a hazy atmosphere, while beautifully preserving the texture of the black stockings and red fabric without overexposure. We tried several angles during the shoot; the slightly high-angle wide-perspective shot in Image 2 props open the composition of the character and sofa very widely, instantly bringing out the magnificence of the scene, while the close-up angle holding the grapes can better deliver that cold and slightly careless emotion in the eyes.

During the shooting process, I tried to find that unique sense of contradiction within this character—possessing both divinity and arrogance, yet carrying rebellious and fragile traits. There is no need for too many complex actions; simply leaning against the sofa or looking up at the lens, using natural body language to interpret this cold, elegant vibe, is enough to give the frame a sense of narrative in this Anime-style photography work. After this set of final photos came out, the entire red and black color scheme along with the retro scene layout matched the character's temperament perfectly, making it a very smooth shooting experience.
