The theme I set for myself this time is "If I knew it was a dream, why wake up?", hoping to capture that texture of Ganyu—both real yet possessing a hazy dreamlike quality—amidst the interplay of light and shadow. In the photos, I specifically selected this indoor scene with a doorframe; hard light hits from the left side, leaving crisp shadows and clear light-and-dark boundary lines on the wall. This high-contrast natural lighting isn't easy to master, but I personally love the raw texture of the finished shots, as it perfectly outlines the character's quiet, reflective state.

Next, let's talk about the styling. For this light blue-gray wig, I thinned out hair layers in advance and added wispy stray hairs to make it look well-designed without feeling heavy. The pair of red spherical hair ornaments atop the head serves as one of the visual focal points of color in the image; the red and blue color blocking complements skin tone exceptionally well. The outfit itself is a dark halter neck sleeveless cropped top; its velvet fabric produces a subtle, restrained shimmer under the light, neatly fitting the neck and shoulder lines. The fitted base layer on the bottom half echoes the overall dark tone, while the golden criss-cross straps on the thighs not only enrich visual details but also enhance the color balance of the overall look.

The large golden bell at the neck is the most eye-catching prop in this outfit. During shooting, I needed to constantly monitor its positioning—preventing it from swaying or turning over during larger movements, while ensuring it maintained a weighted hanging texture at the center of the composition. This detail is crucial for reinforcing character recognition for this Liyue character. The detachable sleeves on the arms retain a white main body with blue cuff patterns; this asymmetrical layering is precisely the clever finesse of the character design. The gesture of my hand gently gripping the doorknob was also intentionally chosen to convey a relaxed, effortless state rather than a stiff pose.

Ganyu herself always gives off a dependable impression of bustling about for Liyue, but who knows if she occasionally wishes for a deep slumber without early mornings? In the concept of this photoshoot, I wasn't just imitating her appearance; I hoped to use the ambience, light, and shadow to express that restrained yet inherently gentle trait hidden inside her. This door-leaning pose seems casual, but in reality, it required balancing body center of gravity with comfortable facial expressions to present an effortless, natural feel before the lens, rather than a stiffly forced posture.

Every time I do an intricate look with rich details, the preparation phase is actually far more complex than people imagine. From makeup color matching to securing wig accessories, every step requires repeated testing. For instance, because the indoor side lighting was quite hard, to avoid heavy facial shadows that look harsh, constant adjustments between light angle and face orientation were necessary—a tiny deviation could significantly compromise the final outcome. The shadow cast on the wall in the finished shot is actually a fascinating part of the composition; it adds a touch of dramatic color to the frame while perfectly fitting the slightly illusory theme of "dream". Shooting in this costume indoors during summer was certainly a test of physical stamina and patience, but being able to complete such a creation in an ideal set yielded results that met expectations. With the photographer's camera work, details on the costume—such as the reflection on the golden bell, the fabric folds in light and shadow, and the rim light through hair strands—were captured impeccably. This dedicated attitude toward every Anime cosplay creation is precisely what I hope to convey through these photos.
