[Ganyu Cosplay] Lantern Festival: Gentle Warmth as Aloof and Pure as Glaze Lilies

This blue-and-black outfit paired with a white porcelain bowl truly brings a wonderful sense of festive ritual. Taking advantage of today's Lantern Festival, I put on this flowing blue and black gauze attire and shot this set of photos centered around traditional holiday warmth, hoping to accurately restore the character's unique blend of cool elegance and subtle gentleness.

To closely match the original character's features, the gradient blue wig paired with the black horns with red patterns on top served as the focal point of the styling. The hair needed to be handled in individual layers to recreate those lively and fluffy bangs from the official art, which, paired with large-area light blue contact lenses and eye makeup blended with reddish halos around the eyes, made the eyes look deeper and clearer under light refraction.

The design highlights of this costume lie in off-the-shoulder cuts and material paneling. The upper body incorporates black semi-sheer tulle with tailored fitting, showing off the shoulder-and-neck lines while ensuring the character's aura of mystery. Metal pendants at the neckline and a golden hollow necklace add delicacy to the outfit, while the deep blue fabric at the hem, decorated with embroidered white flower motifs, showcases a unique velvet-like texture under warm red and yellow lighting. The gloves feature a paneled design with black transparent tulle covering the back of the hand, offering a realistic feel without sacrificing an airy, flowing aesthetic.

The finest detail lies in the red cord tying design around the legs, which, combined with the short skirt cut, beautifully showcases body proportions in this composition, creating a visual contrast point against the overall cool-toned attire.

For scene arrangement, I selected an indoor background rich in Chinese-style ACG festive ambiance. Hanging behind me were vibrant red paper lanterns and scrolls printed with ink bamboo and calligraphy, paired with sprawling branches of bright yellow ginkgo leaves to form a richly layered warm-toned background. This created a visual interplay of warm and cold tones against the character's blue and black cool color scheme.

Great care was also put into selecting props during shooting. Unlike typical aesthetic photo sets, this shoot specifically incorporated the festival theme by preparing a white porcelain bowl filled with tangyuan and a small spoon. Holding the bowl while gazing forward emphasized a sense of tranquility, whereas holding up a red square 'Fu' blessing character added everyday life warmth and character approachability, as if sending holiday wishes across the screen. In the low-angle shot reaching out toward ginkgo leaves, I intentionally slowed my movements, letting the black mesh around my wrist drape naturally to convey a relaxed, effortless atmosphere.

For close-up shots, capturing the eye expression was crucial. In close-ups, I used a hand-on-chin pose paired with a slightly tilted head to convey a dreamy, focused expression. Highlights reflected off the contact lenses, combining with the soft red eyeshadow to make the gaze appear much softer.

In controlling overall light and shadow, the photographer utilized ample back-side lighting and softboxes to avoid harsh facial shadows, while creating a beautiful rim light along the edges of the hair strands and black horns, making the character appear enveloped in a hazy, warm sunshine glow.

Although the character carries an ethereal divine aura, my goal in incorporating traditional holiday warmth was to highlight her grounded, gentle side. Behind every refined Cosplay photography set lies a team's rigorous control over character details. I believe good cosplay isn't just about recreating costumes, but achieving harmony in mental state and temperament. On this day of reunion, standing before the camera with a dedicated, professional attitude to complete these photos is a truly memorable milestone.
