The rhythm of work lately has been constantly tense, and only when sitting in front of the computer to finish editing this Ganyu maid photo set did I feel a real sense of relaxation. After shooting it a while ago, I genuinely had no time to do the post-processing. Every day I was busy handling various client demands, but today I finally wrapped up my work and hurried to organize these photos.

Let's talk about the design details of this costume. When I first chose this outfit, what attracted me most was the combination of the puff sleeves and the apron. The black part of the upper body used a matte leather-like fabric, and the texture of the golden metal cross-knot decoration on the chest is very solid, not looking cheap at all. The sleeves and headpiece used a large area of aqua-blue light tulle with delicate lace trim, which gives a great sense of layers. The ruffles on the skirt hem and the white-and-gold bow tie waistband turned the sweet atmosphere of the entire maid outfit up to the max.

In terms of the shooting concept, we didn't go to an outdoor location or find a complex photography studio this time. Instead, we directly picked an indoor bed with relatively soft lighting. The giant teddy bear next to it was an unexpected surprise; it was not only a great shooting prop but also allowed me to find more natural postures during the shoot. For instance, when lying down or leaning against it, it not only used its sense of volume to balance the composition but also beautifully showcased the leg lines of this maid outfit paired with black tights.

The headpiece part was actually modified, blending the character's own horn and wing elements, redesigning the lace trim and strap lengths, and utilizing a red, blue, and white color-blocking scheme that goes great with the blue wig. For the wig, the blue chosen this time wasn't exceptionally bright but carried a slightly grayish texture, making the photos' colors softer so it wouldn't steal the spotlight from the costume due to overly saturated hair color.

I have to admit that this styling style is quite different from the cool and sharp route I usually take. The positioning of a maid outfit is inherently sweet, so I also made slight adjustments to the makeup this time. The colors of the eye makeup and lip color were matched to lean warmer, which, combined with the colored contact lenses, fits closer to the soft temperament of the character herself.

The shooting day was actually prepared quite hurriedly. After finishing makeup in the morning, I rushed to the venue to arrange the setup—the plush bear, pillows, and blankets; the position of each prop needed to be adjusted to the right proportion. Because it was shot on a bed, the placement of the costume was also particularly critical, especially those huge puff sleeves and the skirt hem, which could turn into a clump if one isn't careful. Fortunately, my partner meticulously organized them for me many times during the shoot.

When doing this type of character, posture is also a detail that requires extra attention. Because the costume itself is relatively complex, it can easily look bulky if you don't mind your body posture. Therefore, whether sitting or lying down, it's necessary to consciously tighten your core while maintaining a relaxed look, so that no extra flab ruins the original silhouette of the clothes.

Additionally, when facing the camera, the angle of your gaze also requires care. Overly forced posing can make the image stiff, so I prefer catching expressions that flow naturally from bodily movements, like the moment of raising a hand or when tilting the head up. The emotions captured in these candid shots usually carry more infection.

However, reality is always harsh. Just like the status update I posted before, work seamlessly takes over right after shooting. Photo editing often starts after 11 PM, and I've come to understand a bit why everyone always says that finishing a cosplay photoshoot means being hit by an overtime curse. But honestly, this kind of busyness is also very fulfilling. As a hobby, playing different characters is already the highest emotional adjustment at this stage.

During the post-processing color grading for this cosplay photography, I also tried my best to retain that slightly cool-white interior light feel of the original photos, without over-relying on filters, just restoring the textures of the clothing materials and the skin. After all, a real and delicate texture itself can make up for many shortcomings in post-production.

Moving forward, I am already planning the next shoot, wanting to switch to a completely different style to neutralize this fatigue from continuous rotation. Although the styling differences between various characters are massive and require a lot of homework, this is also the most anticipated part of playing cosplay.

This set of shared photos is considered one of my more satisfactory recent indoor portrait works, and the entire shooting atmosphere was quite relaxed. Regarding this Ganyu maid look, many of my friends are very interested in its overall color scheme and the texture of the sleeves. The combination of light blue, black, white, and gold is indeed very skin-brightening, and that semi-transparent tulle material can reveal a tiny bit of skin color under indoor lighting, making the visual layers exceptionally rich.

Lastly, I want to say that although work pressure is indeed omnipresent, having the opportunity to calm my mind, shoot a photoshoot of a character I like, and present the final edited photos brings a sense of achievement and satisfaction that is hard to summarize in just a few words. Doing cosplay is, after all, a touch of bright color in exhausting days. I also hope to catch some rest time in the future to record more moments of different stylings.
