[Keqing Cosplay] The Lightning in Genshin Impact, New Style Studio Photoshoot Preview

Decided to use this set of studio mirror cosplay selfies to spearhead the preview for A-Qing. Lately, studio schedules have been extremely hard to book. Having finally freed up a half-day, I rushed into the studio dragging my equipment box filled with props. This time, I tried a styling style completely different from the past. Previously, I mostly shot light-colored combinations or directly wore white tights, but this time I changed into a dress interwoven with deep blue and mysterious black, bringing a massive shift in visual focus and texture. Coupled with the light gray-purple streaked twintails, the overall look presents a very powerful and sharp temperament.

For cosplay photography, costume restoration and the on-body effect are always paramount. This time, the skirt cleverly utilizes layered blue thin gauze and stiff fabric patchwork, with the golden buckle on the waist belt serving as a finishing touch, increasing the overall sense of layers. The detached sleeves at the shoulders and the black accessories around the neck make the collarbone and shoulder-neck lines appear sharper. Because it's a cosplay selfie, I need to hold the phone firmly with one hand while continuously fine-tuning the direction of the wig and bangs with the other to ensure the hair buns present a rounded and neat curve in the mirror. I was criticized before that the wig or hair accessories easily tilted, so this time before the shoot, I repeatedly confirmed several times whether the connection between the bows and metal rings on the twintails was secure.

This shooting theme intends to break conventions, wanting more to dig into this character's cool and sharp yet slightly playful temperament. Considering that the official release will probably take another half a month to meet everyone, the refined edits still need to wait for the photographer's long and exquisite post-production. This period just happens to let everyone see something more original and filled with a sense of the scene. Therefore, I directly released these few studio selfies, letting everyone see the real set conditions in the studio. Between the white walls, softboxes, and reflective umbrellas, the person's state instead becomes more natural and relaxed.

In terms of posing, I tried my best to attempt two forms: standing and sitting. The standing posture usually emphasizes a tall, erect, and confident aura, especially those few pictures where one leg is raised and stepped on the chair crossbar, which beautifully elongates the leg proportions and highlights the visual perspective of these patchwork stockings. The sitting posture, on the other hand, focuses more on an elegant texture; with legs crossed, it can better display the line tension of the high heels and ankles. These movements look casual, but during shooting, special attention must be paid to the center of gravity and the relaxation of the shoulders to avoid looking stiff. The cool-toned large lights in the studio blend with the environment, and this simple white-bottomed venue can max out the complex color layers of the costume without stealing the spotlight.

The process of shooting in the studio is very stress-relieving, without external interference, allowing me to quietly immerse myself in my own character state. During this time, I also conveniently tried out different seats; from the small white stool to the wooden high stool, different heights also determine the shift in camera perspectives. In fact, every time I shoot a new character, I face a sense of anticipation. The moment I put on this outfit, wear the wig, and look into the mirror, it feels as if the character's soul briefly possesses me, which has always been the charm of cosplay. This experience is not just about taking a few photos, but a process of self-display and character understanding.

Additionally, regarding makeup, the eye makeup this time adopted slightly upturned eyeliner paired with red lipstick, which can strengthen the radiance of the gaze. When the phone lens points at the mirror to record these moments, it is actually also a record of my current self-state. More scenes will be unlocked in the subsequent official release, which will feel entirely different from studio selfies, and I believe it will also bring a different visual experience to everyone.
