[Ganyu Cosplay] Genshin Impact Lantern Rite: Wishing Travelers a Safe and Smooth Journey

As Lantern Rite is a vital traditional festival in Liyue, the theme for this photoshoot naturally settled on a rich Traditional Chinese style New Year festive atmosphere. To match the holiday spirit, I selected this classic blue-and-black outfit.

Let's talk about the costume and styling first. The outfit showcases remarkable texture; the black leather-textured neck collar paired with a dangling golden bell pendant creates a tight visual anchor. The off-the-shoulder top features deep blue silk lining accented with gold trim, combined with black sheer gloves and rigid armguards to keep the character lively yet regal. The hairstyle features pale blue short hair topped with red-and-black horns and gold hair ornaments, paired with matching blue contact lenses that make the eyes look focused and natural under warm yellow light.

Props and set design were crucial for this photoshoot. To reflect the Lantern Rite spirit, we prepared themed elements, including calligraphy brushes for red spring couplets, red envelopes printed with \"Happy New Year\" and \"Fearless\", and a compartmentalized wooden snack box filled with sunflower seeds, walnuts, and candied hawthorns. For set decoration, an ink-wash bamboo scroll hung in the background surrounded by red paper lanterns bearing \"Fu\" characters, illuminated floor lanterns, yellow flower clusters, and red vines, creating a cozy, festive indoor Chinese atmosphere.

Composition angles were carefully designed as well. For instance, close-up shots captured a semi-obscured face holding a red envelope, highlighting cute visual effects while showing wig and makeup details. Over-the-top close-ups during brush writing emphasized the red calligraphy paper and fine glove textures. Full-body sitting poses were set on a low Chinese daybed topped with a plush white rug; combined with a barefoot look, it revealed costume design details and leg contours, giving a relaxed homey holiday vibe.

Lighting was a major focus. We used warm yellow tones throughout, giving images a warm glow that contrasts beautifully with the character's blue hair, creating a soft yet striking Blue hair cosplay visual balance. During post-processing color grading, we avoided overly pale skin tones, retaining natural skin texture to better melt into the ambient warm glow. A minor anecdote happened during shooting: getting ink on the gloves while practicing calligraphy ended up adding an authentic slice-of-life realism.

This shoot sought to add realistic holiday warmth without losing her core character demeanor.
