[Ganyu Cosplay] Genshin Impact Fes Photo Sharing, Lighting and Detail Log Under the Promenade

This set of Ganyu photos from Genshin Impact Fes can finally be posted! I captured many interesting moments on site, especially this scene under the red lantern promenade. The warm yellow light hitting the light-blue wig gave the hair color a very soft gray-blue texture, which looks much more pleasing to the eye than under natural light.

Let's talk about the costume details for this Ganyu look first. I really love the golden bell around the neck; it makes a slight crisp sound when walking, but to prevent it from falling off due to the crowding at the convention, I intentionally added a hidden snap button to secure it. The sleeve covers feature a more dynamic material, using holographic patchwork that reflects light from different angles under the venue's warm lighting, making it highly layered. The black tight leggings on the lower body, paired with golden lines and straps, are the core of this outfit—both framing the leg lines and ensuring comfort during a whole day of walking around the convention. The flat lace-up shoes with red cords were also a clever choice, visually echoing the red lantern elements in the scene.

Regarding the wig, when portraying a character with a cool aura, the look can easily appear rigid if the bangs are too heavy. So this time, I specially thinned out the layers on both sides of the forehead and used some styling spray to increase the fluffiness of the hair strands. The ahoge on top didn't use harsh iron wire; instead, it was set with localized hairspray, so it sways a bit naturally when the wind blows, making it less stiff. The convention was bustling with fellow fans everywhere, and the temperature inside the hall ran high. Although this outfit isn't a particularly thick winter garment, because of the multiple layers and accessories, I still had to touch up my makeup constantly, especially around the chin and collarbone where it's easy to sweat, using tissues to blot it down.

Among the photos taken this time, my favorite is the one where I lean against the red wooden railing. Standing there allowed my body to relax naturally, avoiding any awkward stiffness from a rigid pose. The lanterns hanging on both sides provided very soft key lighting, beautifully bringing out the texture of the white top's hidden patterns and the golden trim. Sorting through my phone's album, I found that even though these photos were casual snapshots from the convention floor, the atmosphere turned out unexpectedly well. Passersby occasionally entering the background weren't intentionally blurred out, preserving the authentic reality of 'everyone really playing Genshin Impact.'

There was a little episode while taking photos next to the character standee. A young player ran over, pointed at the standee next to me, and said, 'Sister, you look just like that cardboard cutout behind you.' This kind of pure interaction is incredibly heartwarming; seeing the genuine surprise when fans see a cosplay of their favorite character requires no acting at all. The venue setup for Genshin Impact Fes this time was very distinctive, blending traditional Chinese style with the Liyue aesthetic from the game beautifully, making it an absolute perfect match for a Ganyu cosplay here.

Regarding the details of this character styling, I cared most about the straps on the lower body. Many novice cosplayers overlook the tightness of the straps while walking; if they are too loose, they slip off easily, and if they are too tight, they leave red marks on the thighs. Before the event, I specially adjusted the placement of the velcro and elastic bands to ensure they wouldn't displace while walking while keeping the lines crisp and straight. The shoes were the same; although they look like hard soles, thick shock-absorbing pads were added to the insoles, so standing and shooting all day didn't feel terribly exhausting.

Seeing many photos shared by friends over the past few days, I feel that this Fes truly ignited everyone's passion. Whether it was the main stage interactions or the chance encounters under the promenade, you could feel everyone's love for this work and its characters.
