This Genshin The Marionette look for Sandrone Cosplay is finally ready to share. Anyone familiar with Genshin Impact's World Quests knows the significance of the Narzissenkreuz lore. Preparing for this role took immense effort. The wig underwent precise setting, and makeup focused heavily on the eyes, featuring galaxy-blue contact lenses to complement her cool, detached aura. The costume embraces a classic monochrome palette detailed with gold embroidery and crimson gems, lined with peach undertones at the back and finished with richly tiered skirts. The corset-styled waist flatters the silhouette, while white tights paired with red-and-black strappy heels visually elongate the legs.
To mirror the Narzissenkreuz theme, our studio setup was dressed with deep red velvet drapes and Roman pillars. An easel held oil paintings of starry skies and a red-haired maiden, with sunflowers placed in a white floral bucket. Palettes and brushes scattered across the floor completed the studio atmosphere. We opted for warm lighting to evoke the mood of a vintage oil painting. To channel the character's doll-like essence, my poses retained a deliberate stiffness—lifting the skirt hem, balancing a teacup, or holding a luminous flower with measured poise. Communicating with photographer Qin Yangliu, our priority was letting the light carve out garment textures. The final results are deeply satisfying, capturing both the drape of the dress and the clean finish of the white tights.
The Narzissenkreuz questline in Genshin Impact carries great narrative depth, which we sought to convey through photographic language. The costume's metal accessories are quite heavy, making changing cumbersome, and multiple pairs of white tights were swapped out to ensure a snag-free look. Coupled with the warm studio temperature, holding poses while maintaining composure tested both stamina and patience.
The props played a crucial role. Beyond the easel and paintings, the teacup and glowing blossom were chosen with care. Conveying the marionette's uncanny aura meant keeping my gaze focused yet subtly vacant before the lens. Since the galaxy-blue lenses had standard breathability, eye drops were essential between takes to relieve dryness. The waist-length wig required gentle handling to avoid tangles.
Qin Yangliu dedicated considerable time to the lighting, utilizing warm amber key lights with reflectors to achieve an oil-painting texture. Color grading preserved the outfit's natural contrast, accentuating the gold threads and red gems. From preparation to final delivery, this project spanned nearly a month; seeing the finished set makes all the exhaustion worthwhile.
