This outdoor shoot was selected at a garden of a relatively European-style manor. The weather was quite nice on the day of the shoot, but the lighting was a bit harsh, so for many shots, we specifically looked for places with corridors or the shadows of flower trellises to shoot, which made the resulting light and shadow layers richer.

This Cosmic Expression outfit has a lot of design details; the cutout design on the chest and the star ring decoration around the waist require a lot of thought to coordinate. The main color scheme of white and light blue, complemented by gold accents, blends perfectly with the surrounding flowers and marble pillars in this environment. A few shots with foreground blur in the flower bushes were taken from deliberately chosen angles, giving a strong sense of airiness.

The photographer, @夜星秦嵐, was really serious today. We scouted the location in advance, and he helped me conceptualize many compositions utilizing the depth of the architecture. For instance, in the set with the Roman pillar corridor and the white iron flower trellis, he used the perspective of the arched structures to open up the sense of space in the scene. In the few photos taken under the white iron flower trellis, the sunlight filtered down through the grates, and paired with the curve of the long sword in my hand, the storytelling aspect of the overall image truly emerged.

During the shoot, wielding the prop sword and extending the body naturally were the main difficulties. The white and blue costume is quite fresh, so if the expressions are too stiff or the poses are constrained, the image will appear rigid. Therefore, I tried to make my movements as natural as possible, like casually looking back or gazing in the direction of the sunlight. Although the decorations on the chest and arms look beautiful, they limit the range of motion, so I had to pay extra attention to the angles when posing with the sword to avoid blocking the visual focus of the costume.

The photographer caught the facial expressions perfectly. In a few shots looking directly at the camera, there's a hint of determination in the eyes. Although there were minor hiccups during the shoot—like the wig getting messed up when the wind picked up—the photographer was always quick enough to press the shutter the exact moment the wind died down.

Looking back at these finished photos, they truly restore that refreshing, lightweight, and slightly cool tone from the original design concept. Being able to complete this styling session in this garden environment really combined the costume and the setting beautifully. The photos shared this time cover half-body close-ups, full-body standing poses, and perspective shots using flower bushes as the foreground.

Some small tips from the preparation process: make sure to do a good job with sun protection, because shooting outdoors all day on a bright sunny day is a real physical challenge. Also, when shooting in a location like a manor, the interaction between the scene and the character is highly valued—for example, looking back while standing on the steps or leaning against a pillar. These movements actually test the photographer's snapshot ability, but the final results turned out unexpectedly well. I feel that cosplay photography isn't just about restoring a character; it's also about reinterpreting the character's traits through one's own perspective.

The shoot went very smoothly this time. Not only the photos published here, but also many unedited outtakes with a great atmospheric vibe look quite nice. While organizing the photos, it felt like recalling the wind, sunlight, and floral scent in the garden that day. I hope these images can convey that quiet yet powerful feeling of the character.
