I took this set of Aglaea Cosplay photos alongside an Itasha on-site at Bilibili World. This appearance was truly a unique collaboration; being able to exhibit beside this Itasha adorned with full character wraps felt like breaking the boundary between 2D and reality. When preparing this outfit and wig earlier, I constantly pondered how to convey the character's aura in a massive event like this, because fidelity lies not only in the costume's cut, but more in whether one can harmonize seamlessly with the surrounding environment.
The costume styling this time leans toward airy elegance. The dominant white hue paired with extensive golden motifs and cutout designs gives the dress a graceful, flowing drape when walking. The neck accessory also took considerable deliberation—balancing accessory proportions with fit—ultimately settling on this lightweight yet detail-rich design. Inside the warm convention hall, the lighting was quite intricate; intense spotlights easily caused reflective fabrics to glare harshly. In the absence of a dedicated lighting assistant for this Cosplay photography session, utilizing available ambient light and booth illumination was a true test of on-the-spot adaptation. Fortunately, the finish of the Itasha and the texture of the standees were superb, compensating for ambient lighting flaws and making the color tones of the photos appear much softer.
The booth drew massive foot traffic that day, with fellow fans continually gathering around the barriers to watch and take photos, and I was thrilled that everyone paused to appreciate the character portrayal. During shooting, there were many external interferences to overcome—such as constantly dodging black barrier poles and passing crowds, while managing body posture and facial expressions to maintain the character's calm, elegant poise. With every pose, I mentally reviewed the character's movement habits from Honkai: Star Rail, as Aglaea's static aesthetics and dynamic lines are both very refined. Although standing for so long made my legs sore, conveying the character at an exhibition packed with fans and creators was deeply fulfilling.
Aside from the main camera shots, many passersby snapped candid moments with their phones, making me feel that the makeup held up remarkably well under high-definition lenses. Even though the hall was stuffy and sweat threatened to make the wig stick to my face, seeing all the preparations come together made every effort worthwhile. Special thanks to everyone who remembered this Aglaea booth amidst the bustling Bilibili World crowd; exhibiting alongside an Itasha and preserving these photos was an invaluable convention experience for me. As for subsequent retouching, I will carefully select more finished photos with varying poses and moods. The shoot overall went very smoothly; from costume textures to makeup coloration, it recreated that noble yet gentle aura from the character design. I hope seeing these photos allows everyone to feel the dedication I poured into this preparation.
