[Columbina Cosplay] Genshin Impact Damselette's Shenyang convention photos

For this Shenyang convention, I chose this outfit of Genshin Impact Columbina. The overall look is mainly blue and white, accented with gold accessories. The effect after putting it on was surprisingly good, though the air conditioning in the convention venue wasn't very powerful, making it a bit hot wearing this outfit with a shawl and sleevelets. The white little wing hair accessories on top of the head paired with the makeup on the face looked great under the lights. This time, I deliberately chose a wig with pink highlights, matching bright blue circle lenses. When trying on the makeup in front of the mirror, I felt the accuracy was pretty good. To showcase the design sense of this outfit, I specifically brought a white fluffy rug, sitting directly on the gray concrete floor of the venue to strike poses. The neat bangs in front of the wig needed to be trimmed to a suitable length—keeping the original character's traits without blocking the eyes and affecting vision. The pink highlighted parts were very prominent under the lights; paired with the blue and white colored costume, the color contrast was very strong. The makeup focused on highlighting the eye contour, using eyeshadow and eyeliner to elongate the eye shape, which, combined with the blue circle lenses, made the gaze look more vivid.

During the shoot, the photographer constantly reminded me to adjust my sitting posture because the hem of this outfit is relatively large; a bad posture would easily distort the blue and white patterns. I tried a few actions, including crossing my hands over my chest, making gestures with one hand, and reaching out toward the camera. When sitting sideways, I paid special attention to showing off the pantyhose patterned with rhombus and blue lines, which made the overall composition fuller. With people coming and going in the venue and a cluttered background, thanks to the photographer's large aperture lens, the reflectors and tripods behind were blurred out, making the subject of the photos very prominent. To achieve the ideal full-body effect, we searched for several angles on-site to avoid crowds and cluttered backgrounds. Sometimes I needed to half-kneel on the rug, adjusting the arc of the skirt hem so it presented the most natural drape in the lens.

The details of the pantyhose were also a key focus of this shoot. This style with geometric patterns and lines not only enriched the visual layering but also modified the leg shape nicely. When adjusting the sitting posture, I would pay special attention to the extension of the leg lines, such as bending the legs slightly to one side or stretching them one in front of the other, making them look more slender in the lens. The off-shoulder design of the top combined with the detachable sleevelets allowed the arm and shoulder lines to be displayed well. The white bow at the neckline and the metal-textured badge accessories had a slight reflection under the light, increasing the dimensionality of the costume. The white satin ribbons on the wrists were also meticulously wrapped to ensure they wouldn't slip off easily.

During the break in the middle, a few fellow fans came over to trade postcards, and everyone exchanged views on this outfit. Someone mentioned that the sleevelet design of this outfit is very special—they are separate and feature blue geometric lines and gold patterns, with the details done quite well. The wrist straps I wore and the white stand-up collar bow on my neck were also specially prepared props, and it took quite a lot of time to adjust their positions when wearing them. Because the skirt hem is quite large, I had to lift it slightly while walking to avoid stepping on it. The patterns on the pantyhose were also specially selected to echo the blue lines on the costume. Some friends also asked about the makeup details, especially the eye blending and lipstick shade. We briefly exchanged some makeup techniques, and the atmosphere was very harmonious.

The whole process took about three hours, changing into a few different scenes, but because the lighting at the convention site was quite mixed, most of our time was spent looking for light sources. Later, we also tried a few different sitting postures, adjusting hand poses to try to make the movements look as natural as possible. Overall, under the mixed illumination of natural light and on-site lighting, the color layers of this outfit were very rich. The blue and white fabrics presented different shades of tones in the shadows, which formed a great visual contrast with the white fluffy rug. Although the whole process was a bit tiring, I was quite happy when seeing the finished photos. The dark-toned background of the venue happened to set off the blue and white clothes, giving it a great texture. The makeup and styling this time leaned as clean and exquisite as possible, without overly complex modifications, focusing on highlighting the contrast between the eyes and hair color.

Around four in the afternoon, we packed up our things and prepared to leave. The experience of this convention was overall very fulfilling, and I'll try other styles of dressing if there's a chance next time. I'm quite satisfied with the accuracy of this outfit, especially the combination of leg lines and the overall costume, which presented a very natural effect under the lens.
