This set of Honor of Kings Gongsun Li Cosplay photos featuring the Hello Kitty-themed Summer Outfit was shot at the RED Summer Farm Friend Festival. I put this outfit together myself by selecting and coordinating light blue and white pieces, so the silhouette has a unique touch incorporating my personal everyday aesthetic.
The shooting location was set up very thoughtfully, with a blue-and-white striped wall in the background and transparent plastic sheeting laid across the floor to simulate water ripples and reflections. The props were also delightful—a clear umbrella printed with cartoon kitten patterns and pink trim, a blue-and-white striped inflatable swim ring, and a prop ice cream cone on the table.
During the shoot, the photographer experimented with three distinct angles tailored to the costume. The first was a close-up focusing purely on the white thigh-highs and shoes. To flatter my leg lines, I wore white chunky-heeled lace-up sandals featuring a cat face design on the toe, which made my legs look exceptionally straight when paired with the White thigh-highs outfit. The second shot focused on my upper body and face—pink twin tails paired with white fluffy rabbit ears and a breathable light-blue sheer top. The slightly translucent fabric perfectly accentuated the collarbone and shoulder lines. The third shot was a full-body photo, which I selected as the cover: sitting atop the backrest of a blue-and-white striped folding chair and stretching my legs forward as far as possible, which fully displayed the leg lines while taking full advantage of the compositional leading lines.
Sitting on the chair's backrest was actually a real test of balance, requiring me to shift my center of gravity backward to avoid tipping over sideways. Furthermore, since my custom skirt was quite short, I had to constantly adjust my seated posture to avoid wardrobe malfunctions while reaching towards the table to pretend to grab the ice cream—a sequence we retook multiple times. Additionally, to keep wrinkles on the sheer top from affecting the overall visual look, we frequently paused between takes to tidy up the hem and wig.
I also cared a lot about how my legs were presented, so I chose high-quality white thigh-high stockings that smoothed skin tone and provided a subtle sheen to give the legs a more sculpted dimension. Pairing delicate stockings, a semi-sheer top, and bunny ears in this cool-toned blue-and-white set brought out both the character's girlish charm and a refreshing, breezy summer ambiance. Although coordinating my own outfit took extra time to fine-tune, I am very satisfied with the final result, which perfectly matches the theme of the RED Summer Farm Friend Festival.
