The exhibition hall at Jinan Huanying was buzzing with energy, and this Honor of Kings Gongsun Li cosplay ensemble made its debut just in time for today's heat. The red-and-white jacket incorporates extensive sequin embellishments that reflect brilliantly under the overhead hall spotlights; combined with golden piping and structured shoulders, the silhouette appears distinctly three-dimensional. The white underlayer features wide panels of sheer mesh splicing; to stay secure in the dense crowd, I used safety pins before heading out to reinforce the shoulder straps and golden chest emblem, preventing any shifting during dynamic movements.
Today's makeup focused primarily on the longevity of the base and eye makeup. Blonde hair and blunt bangs easily look flat under harsh convention lights, so I applied generous amounts of volumizing powder and setting spray to ensure the strands retained their airy bounce throughout the day. For the eyes, I chose warm brown tones to echo the red-and-white palette, paired with dark contact lenses so my gaze stayed sharp and expressive even in close-ups. The bunny ear headband was the defining touch: plush fabric can easily brush against hair and makeup while walking, so I lined the inner band with anti-slip padding and adjusted the tilt several times to achieve this natural, perky dimension. The black choker with its golden rhombus accent served as a sleek little detail that elevated the entire look.
Running into so many fellow fans on site and helping each other fix our costumes created such an uplifting atmosphere. Because the jacket's sleeves and shoulders are quite voluminous, I habitually raised my left hand in a peace sign when posing—this not only accentuated the tailoring of the upper bodice and injected vitality into the composition, but also conveniently blocked out the cluttered background crowds. With multiple layers, walking around the hall definitely brought on some sweat, but thankfully the inner lining remained breathable. Paired with regular touch-ups and quick adjustments to my hair accessories, my overall condition stayed solid throughout.
Having portrayed many characters, I care deeply about how well an outfit performs in real-world environments. This Gongsun Li costume is undeniably gorgeous, but mesh and sequined fabrics demand delicate care—any snagging or lost sequins would ruin the camera effect, so I consciously steered clear of sharp props and cramped corners. Surviving today's marathon at Jinan Huanying from early-morning styling to live shooting was exhausting, but seeing the final shots proved it was all worth it; the visual punch of the red-and-white sequins exceeded all expectations.
