[Wang Zhaojun cosplay] Honor of Kings Flower of Ice and Snow: White Plum & Sunset Photo Sharing

Starting with the makeup design for Wang Zhaojun's Flower of Ice and Snow skin, cool-toned skin and light blue contact lenses served as the foundational starting point. The sapphire and blue crystal accents on the forehead had to be drawn with great precision to catch light effectively under intense studio illumination. For the wig, I selected long, straight silver-blue hair, which required plenty of time to brush out smoothly before shooting. Regarding the costume, the chest silver armor spliced with white fur was more forgiving on figure fit than anticipated; however, the deep blue outer cloak was quite heavy and could easily make the shoulders appear overly broad. During the shoot, I deliberately shifted the cloak backward or held its outer edges open with both hands to streamline my silhouette. The core styling highlight was the Blue stockings featuring ice-crystal mesh patterns and snowflake appliqués, which, when paired with strappy navy heels, elongated the leg lines while creating a frosty, aloof mood. To showcase the stockings and leg contours, we explored multiple angles. The most satisfying shot was seated on a white carved chair with legs crossed while holding the staff—not only avoiding awkward framing near the edges, but also bringing the chest armor, fur collar, legs, and snowflake motifs together naturally. To embody the icy poise of the original character design, I reined in my smile to maintain a cool, elegant gaze. For props and visual effects, I experimented with holding snowflakes before settling on cradling a floating snowflake in front of me, using a shallow depth of field to keep the subject crisp. Post-production snowflake effects incorporated cool-toned grading and radial blur to heighten front-to-back spatial depth. Shoots combining tight-fitting elements with exposed skin always test endurance, especially standing on cold studio props in winter, but seeing the tactile contrast between the thigh stockings and plush fur made every effort worthwhile. This set marks a meaningful Wang Zhaojun cosplay experience that enriched my future approach to character Cosplay photography.
