The finished photos from today's Ichigaya Arisa cosplay shoot are finally ready. The location chosen was a university library study room. The wooden desks and metallic bookshelves behind, paired with natural light streaming through the windows, created an environment perfectly suited for a student character like Arisa.
To faithfully recreate this iconic sailor suit cosplay, I prepared the khaki blazer, the white sailor collar bordered in black, and the prominent, oversized red bow at the chest in advance. The gold button details on the uniform were also reproduced with precision. Trimming and styling the twintails wig took considerable effort—adjusting the curl at the tips required patience to make it fluffy without appearing frizzy or messy. For the distinct 'X' mark under her left eye, I tested several techniques and ultimately found that drawing it directly with a black eyeliner pencil looked the most natural without casting distracting reflections on camera. As for makeup, I emphasized soft eyeshadow blending and dusted on a bit more blush to embody her spirited yet slightly tsundere temperament.
The shooting process truly tested our patience. Because we were in a library with students studying nearby, we moved with absolute stealth to avoid making noise. We relied predominantly on window daylight complemented by a reflector board. In the first shot, leaning my cheek against my hand while resting on the desk was actually just me spacing out from fatigue, but the candid capture turned out wonderfully—channeling that effortlessly aloof, tsundere demeanor quintessential to Arisa. The second upright sitting posture was meant to showcase the full uniform, clearly framing the bold red bow and the clean lines of the sailor collar. A black leather school bag placed beside me served as a charming styling accent.
Even though Arisa is the young lady of a pawnshop, at school she carries a very distinct presence. Wearing this uniform in a library requires no theatrical dramatics—simply sitting quietly or gently turning to gaze out the window effortlessly channels that lived-in student reality. Someone in our group chat previously told me to look more serious, but in such a tranquil setting, slipping into character felt completely effortless.
The shoot went smoothly, and I'm deeply satisfied with the final results. I personally adore this photo set, not just for the character, but because I thoroughly enjoyed spending a quiet, peaceful afternoon capturing these frames.
