Shooting the Antiquarian this time, what fascinated me most about the overall look was that blue-and-white Chinese-style outfit. The cloud embroidery on the collar and the tassel details on the cuffs are truly exquisite. To restore the character's martial arts mastery and aloof temperament, I specially added braids to my hairstyle and paired them with blue hair accessories, hoping to echo the embellishments on the clothing. The shooting location was chosen in a traditional Chinese courtyard. The atmosphere of stone steps, wooden pillars, and red lanterns matches the Antiquarian's backstory perfectly.

Speaking of props, this long flute is actually a highly iconic weapon for the Antiquarian. Although it looks like a musical instrument, she wields it incredibly well in the lore. In the pictures, I tried several different movements, such as standing quietly with the flute, glancing back sideways, and the exact moments of swinging it with force. With every movement, I wanted to act out that sense of contrast of being "seemingly weak but actually possessing deep internal power." Especially for that pose of standing on one leg while brandishing the long flute, I practiced multiple times just to stay steady. Fortunately, the skirt design is very loose, flowing naturally with the movements to look full of dynamic energy.

Regarding the material of the costume, the top utilizes a jacquard fabric with subtle patterns, presenting different sheens under flashlights and natural light, giving it a very premium texture. The dark green patchwork of the bottom skirt is also brilliant, bringing a steady martial-arts world (jianghu) aura while retaining feminine softness. To coordinate with the shoot, I wore white stockings and soft-soled cloth shoes, which kept me comfortable while walking on the courtyard's stone slabs and unified the color tone of the entire look for this Chinese-style cosplay.

Actually, during the process of game character recreation, the most interesting part is to fathom her personality. The Antiquarian is a shrewd yet mysterious character in Identity V, so I deliberately controlled my expressions when taking photos, smiling as little as possible and keeping my eyes focused to achieve that sharp look of "having a calculated plan in mind." The photographer helped me capture many natural states, such as the moment of playing the long flute. Although I couldn't actually make a sound, my posture had to pretend to be fully immersed in the melody. This is exactly where the fun of cosplay lies—making static photos filled with a sense of storytelling.

We shot for a whole day this time, and although I was a bit exhausted, seeing myself look like a female warrior who truly walked out of the game in the final cuts instantly made all the effort feel worth it. The real-scene shooting in the Chinese courtyard definitely added a lot of points to the overall quality. The warm light of the red lanterns and the dark environment at night set each other off, leaving the frame with both classical charm and a mysterious vibe. I hope this share allows everyone to feel my dedicated restoration of this character, and fellow fans of ancient style photography are welcome to exchange shooting insights together.
