[Velina cosplay] The Silver-Haired Idol of Zenless Zone Zero, Studio Photoshoot Atmosphere Maxed Out

Choosing to shoot Velina in an industrial-style sound studio this time truly captured that retro-electronic vibe I wanted. Those old CRT TVs and stacked large black speakers in the background, paired with the yellow-and-black striped flight cases, are an absolute perfect match for New Eridu's underground dungeon vibe in Zenless Zone Zero.

During the shoot, I intentionally had the photographer capture both standing and sitting poses. The standing shot perfectly showcases the fluttering of the costume's hem and the details of the fan in my hand, while the sitting one delivers more of an atmosphere of resting during a stage break. The blue-and-white color palette of this outfit, combined with the large white bow and lace white stockings, pops with distinct texture when struck by the lights in a dark-toned environment. The wig and pointed ears were also meticulously styled, with the direction of the bangs and hair strands repeatedly adjusted before the shoot. The photographer's lighting was highly sophisticated; the face received even light, making the skin tone look translucent, while a side-backlight outlined a rim light along the hair edges, making the silver-white hair incredibly eye-catching in the frame. Holding the prop fan added some dynamic tension to the poses, preventing them from looking stiff.

The overall shooting pace was very comfortable. The two of us coordinated to try a few different angles, and the final selections barely needed any heavy editing; post-processing mainly adjusted the color tones and darkened the background to highlight the main subject. Velina's character setting itself is very flamboyant yet slightly tsundere, so I tried to bring a bit of a confident brow-raise and a slight upward curl to the corners of my mouth in my expressions, hoping to recreate her effortless vibe for this Game character recreation. The setup and lighting of this studio are truly perfect for shooting characters with a touch of stage presence or sci-fi feel. I will definitely come back to try other styles when I get the chance for another Anime cosplay session.
