[Momiji cosplay] I Hate Drunkards the Most!

"I hate drunkards the most!" This iconic line carries a touch of tsundere attitude, vividly expressing Momiji's personality—disdainful on the surface yet rich and complex inside.

Cosplaying Momiji cosplay from Onmyoji and Onmyoji Arena this time was one of my favorite photoshoot experiences recently. Let me share some makeup/styling insights and behind-the-scenes moments from this Convention photography session as part of my Coser daily life.

First, regarding the outfit. This modified black-based sailor suit, with red dual-stripes on the cuffs and a red bow at the collar, was crafted with meticulous detail. The fabric has a subtle glossy texture that contrasts vividly with the red ribbons, creating a strong visual punch. The pleated long skirt drops nicely and maintains a sleek silhouette while walking, preserving the youthful touch of a sailor suit while looking cool and mysterious due to the dominant black tone.

Accessories served as the soul of this styling. I specifically chose a rigid black flat-top cap that instantly locks in an authoritative presence when worn. The genuine leather choker with a metallic star pendant around my neck perfectly echoes design elements from the original character. Metallic chain bracelets and leather wrist straps added a punk touch of rebelliousness, perfectly matching her slightly willful tsundere persona. The large black bag wasn't just a prop; posing with it allowed my hands to rest naturally on the strap or bag body, preventing poses from looking stiff.

For hair and makeup, I kept the classic straight bangs paired with long straight black hair. Combined with blue-gray contact lenses, I worked to create a cold, slightly disdainful gaze in my eye makeup, finished with a dark red lip color to reinforce the cool, glamorous vibe. During the shoot, I focused on capturing two distinct feelings: the casual laziness of turning around casually, and a bold presence using a prop chair with one leg stepping up.

The shooting environment was actually quite challenging given the packed convention floor. However, the photographer's mastery of light was a massive highlight. Red rim light coming from behind contoured the edges of my hair and the shoulder lines of the costume perfectly, creating a soft red glow in the air that provided a strong light-and-dark contrast against the black-and-white base. The silver plastic reflective cloth on the floor was also a huge help, adding a shimmering texture to the frame as if recreating Momiji's moonlit atmosphere.

From composition to expression, this set of photos aimed to stay as close as possible to the character's signature charm—that dangerous blend of beauty, paired with the playful annoyance implied in her lines about drunkards. To better restore the role, I repeatedly adjusted my posture and expressions during the shoot, trying to portray a fully realized Momiji.

Overall, breathing soul into a character takes more than just costumes; it requires pairing them with unique expressions and body language. I hope this set allows everyone to feel my immense love for this character. The red and black combination is truly incredible, and the pairing of thigh-high socks with a crop top received many compliments from fellow fans at the convention. Although the session left me exhausted, bringing these photos home was the absolute best way to wrap it up!
