[Cerydra Cosplay] Honkai: Star Rail Afternoon Moments: A Cold Drink and a Casual Snapshot

Regarding this custom design cosplay for Cerydra, it actually took two full weeks from selecting fabrics to tweaking accessories. Since the custom design added a lot of personal obsession with the blue and white color scheme on top of the original setting, I specially chose a fabric with a pearlescent sheen for the diamond pattern on the lower half when tailoring the outfit. The ruffle cut at the shirt collar was the most labor-intensive part; to ensure it created naturally stacked layered folds when turning around or raising my arms, I added several extra inner linings. Finally, paired with a custom necktie and black bow, the overall structure was complete.

The wig also got an upgrade this time. The gradient dye from off-white to light blue was custom-blended by a friend, and the layered trimming at the ends was done to complement the airy lightness of the headpiece. The deep blue flame hair accessory on top actually has micro LED lights built inside, but I turned the light source off on the day of the shoot for a natural lighting effect. This matte blue state ended up blending much better with the daily environment without being overly flashy. For contact lenses, I specifically chose an amber-toned pair to soften the sense of distance brought by the large areas of cool colors on the hair and clothes, making my gaze look more full of stories.

The light on the day of the shoot was very friendly to the blue color palette, with the wooden tables and dark leather sofas in the cafe creating a great contrast of light and dark. The layered blue specialty drink on the table unexpectedly became a nice color prop, subtly echoing the hair color in a low-saturation way. Next to it was a slice of matcha crepe cake, making the whole picture look more like a casual moment captured during Coser daily life café visits. Taking a break during "work hours" to document one's hobby feels like a peaceful haven amidst a busy life.

In a room with darker ambient tones, the blue flame hair ornament naturally became the visual focal point. Although wearing it out on the street does attract plenty of side-glances from passersby, as a cosplayer, I've long grown used to this non-daily attention. When the phone camera lens was pointed at me, I didn't deliberately strike overly exaggerated poses—just leaned back relaxed against the chair, letting the light fall naturally around my neck and collarbones. Relaxing the shoulders and neck gives the outline of the costume a more upright silhouette, so I tried to keep my breathing steady at the exact moment of pressing the shutter.

Doing a custom design cosplay always feels like interpreting imagination from a parallel universe. There's no need to strictly recreate the official lore; as long as the outfit's styling logic is self-consistent and the makeup and hair can stand on their own in reality, it's already a complete creation. Although this look seems to have many intricate decorations, moving around is actually quite nimble. Especially the short skirt design on the lower half paired with light-colored safety shorts, sitting in a cafe for an afternoon doesn't feel restrictive at all. Trying to balance aesthetics and comfort like this is truly important for cosplayers who spend long hours at anime conventions.
