[Lumine cosplay] Genshin Impact: Adventure Memories Under the Dull Blade & Cosplay Convention Photos

What is the meaning of travel? Under the lights of the convention, holding this rustic prop greatsword that is almost as long as my arm, I often think of this question. Standing in front of the bright yellow bleachers, the glossy floor tiles beneath reflect the shadows of my dress and high boots. Wearing this classic white dress with blue trim, paired with white flower hair ornaments and airy blue ribbons, I briefly exist as the Traveler in this busy shopping mall convention zone.

Choosing Lumine cosplay, the primary reason was loving her slightly mischievous, clever, yet extremely reliable personality—what everyone affectionately calls "sassy Lumine." This character persona is super fun when taking photos because you can mold various states combined with her look. One moment you can pose coolly holding a greatsword, and the next you can sit blankly on the floor biting a prop without a care in the world. Although this outfit is mostly white, giving off a cool and elegant look, the dark brown corset around the waist and the silver-gray metallic armguards on my arms, plus golden accents at the bottom, greatly balance softness with heroic battle flair. When doing this makeup and hair, to present Lumine's hair color and luster, I carefully trimmed the wig so the layers fit my face shape better.

Speaking of shooting, the convention hall environment was actually very challenging. For instance, the yellow stepped bleachers behind me have a geometric color block feel, but they can easily reflect light that turns one's face yellow, making on-site lighting adjustments crucial for Convention photography. We tried to make full use of the mall's high overhead lights so that when I made big poses—like crouching with the sword, turning back with the blade, or even sitting on the floor—the light and shadows fell evenly across my face, avoiding uneven brightness. Plus, the tailored fit of this costume highlights body curves very well, especially the white high-heeled long boots, which stretch out the leg lines nicely in crouched and sitting poses, making the side view look remarkably upright and dashing.

Looking back at my early days in the game, back then I really dared to challenge Hilichurls everywhere across Teyvat with just a basic Dull Blade. My skills were poor and gear was trash back then; every battle required careful calculation, yet I was fearlessly brave and lived purely. But what about now? As the adventure deepens, whether it's monsters in the Spiral Abyss or bosses with complex mechanics in new maps, their stats get crazier one after another. Every time I fight them, I have to huff and puff while studying team comps and rotation combos for half a day. This helpless feeling of "monsters now are all stronger than me" is experienced to the fullest in the game, and as a cosplayer, this humorous contrast and nostalgia for the past is precisely what I wanted to convey in these Cosplay convention photos.

This is growth, I suppose—the Traveler's growth and mine are one and the same. Even if monsters get so strong they give you a temporary headache, that desire to keep exploring new maps and seeing the wonder of this world still instinctively drives me to grip the sword in my hand tighter. I think this is where the deeper meaning of cosplay lies beyond just matching appearance—to briefly experience a character's life journey, feel their courage when facing the unknown, taste the sweetness and bitterness along the way, and then bring that courage back into three-dimensional real life. The meaning of travel is probably continuously encountering stronger enemies, and becoming a better version of oneself through that process.
