Taking advantage of the IJOY expo session, I finally got around to cosplaying Guizhong. When I first saw the official concept art, I was captivated by her cool, ethereal grace, but upon receiving the physical costume, I realized the details were far more intricate than imagined. The wig is sleek, silver-grey long straight hair, where I had to trim the curved bangs little by little myself. The blue hairpieces and metallic clips on both sides of the head tested stability significantly, as the slightest movement would knock them askew, requiring tight pinning with bobby pins. The main garment features color-blocked white and blue using matte satin, looking rich and textured without excessive sheen. The sheer mesh area across the chest replicates the hollowed-out cutout from the canon design, but in practice, figuring out seamless undergarments to prevent wardrobe malfunctions was crucial; using nude base layers and invisible covers gave a very natural finish. The blue ring motifs and dangling tassels around the waist carry substantial weight, swinging constantly when walking, requiring deliberate posture control during shooting to ensure they drape properly without looking messy. My favorite element was the pair of oversized detachable sleeves lined with subtly shimmery blue fabric, which caught a faint starlight glow under camera flashes and allowed for fluttering, dynamic gestures—though the added weight made my arms ache after holding them up for long. During the studio shoot, thanks to the photographer's patience, sitting on the freezing concrete floor was made possible by placing down a round plush rug; stepping barefoot onto the rug was actually quite cold, but to stay true to the character's immaculate, dust-free purity, I endured going shoeless. Throughout shooting, we experimented with sleeve-flings and glancing back over the shoulder, finding that static standing stances and seated postures best accentuated the garment's tailoring and structural silhouette in this Anime-style photography session. Studio lighting was configured with a slightly hard, crisp quality, rendering fabric textures sharply without blowing out highlights, while post-processing mainly refined skin tones and eye catchlights to retain the raw shot's clean clarity. There were many fellow fans at the convention, and walking through the halls in this outfit turned plenty of heads; while some initially mistook me for other white-haired characters, inspecting the details made it instantly recognizable.
