For this set of Perfect Blue convention photos shot in a Zhanjiang Photography studio, meticulous preparation went into everything from wardrobe to props. The strapless red puff dress served as the core of the styling; its multi-tiered skirt lined with white lace inner ruffles provided gorgeous bounce during movement and posing. The headdress featured a wide red headband, complemented by white opera-length gloves extending past the elbows, white over-the-knee Stockings, and pointed red high heels. The striking red-and-white chromatic contrast delivered immense visual punch.

For props, we prepared a chef's knife with faux blood splatters along with a translucent weapon-like prop. In image 3, the close-up shielding half my face with the blade aimed to project the character's fractured, perilous psyche. The blade was held extremely close to the face, requiring rock-steady arms for sharp focus while channeling intense emotion through the eyes across the steel edge. In image 2, the low-angle shot raising the knife with clawed hands demanded engaged back muscles, tensed arms, and a tucked chin, working with overhead top-lighting to carve out three-dimensional facial contours. In image 4, holding the translucent prop aloft with both hands carried a theatrical, stage-play flair, standing with feet slightly apart and sinking the center of gravity downward. Image 1 captures a glance back over the shoulder with my back turned to the lens; rotating the waist allowed the red dress's skirt to fan out organically while straightening the legs to accentuate seamless continuity between the White stockings and red heels.

The set was an indoor Photography studio featuring geometric black-and-white carpeting, industrial metal ceiling grids, circular LED strip lights, and a glass curtain wall. A bright square softbox lit the left side while the right remained relatively moody—this high-contrast lighting ratio proved ideal for cultivating suspense. In image 1, the over-the-shoulder angle required catching the precise rim light along the cheek with a taut jawline and sharp gaze. In image 2, raising hands overhead made the stark white gloves stand out crisply against the dark backdrop. In image 3, the close-up demanded controlled micro-expressions with a lowered head and upward gaze to evoke psychological pressure. In image 4, using a wide-angle perspective from a low angle elongated the leg and shoe lines, while the background circular ring lights and grid carpet provided strong linear vanishing depth.

Shooting on-site often tests spontaneous adaptability, as every motion must align with garment mechanics. Without shoulder straps, drastic movements required caution to prevent the dress from slipping. The synthetic fibers of the White stockings and long gloves tended to reflect studio strobes, requiring polarizer filters or fine-tuned lighting angles. Standing for hours in high heels meant anchoring weight into the balls of my feet to keep posture upright. To depict the character's layered states, I maintained physical tension from chilly glances to weapon-wielding close-ups. Poses remained measured and restrained to prevent over-exaggeration from disrupting the overall elegance. Checking playback between takes allowed us to fix skirt folds and glove seams, ensuring every frame honored the character's persona and textile quality. Portraying this style relies heavily on gaze and bodily tension rather than plain facial expressions, so I deliberately sustained an aloof, watchful edge. Transitioning before and after the shutter was instantaneous, ensuring I stayed locked in character the moment each frame was captured.
