[Phoebe Cosplay] Wuthering Waves: Summer Time Rendering Seaside photography Record

Today, this set of Phoebe Cosplay summer seaside photos is finally out! While the memories are still fresh, I wanted to quickly document my shooting reflections from this Wuthering Waves outdoor location. The theme for this shoot was set as Summer Time Rendering at the seaside, mainly hoping to present a refreshing and dreamy ambiance through Anime-style photography.

First, let's talk about the hair and makeup. Phoebe's long blonde wavy wig was notoriously hard to manage in the sea breeze—it tangles easily once windblown, so before heading out, I used plenty of styling spray and reinforced the crown and behind-the-ear areas with bobby pins to ensure the waves held their beautiful curls when caressed by coastal winds. For makeup, to complement the translucent coastal glow, I opted for lightweight waterproof liquid foundation; since seaside UV rays are strong and makeup easily melts, I deployed both setting powder and setting spray. The eye makeup was built on soft blue and pastel yellow tones, paired with large-diameter colored contacts to emphasize the character's lively expressiveness. The outfit is a classic blue-and-white gingham camisole dress paired with a wide-brimmed white straw hat and light-blue strappy sandals; the beaded necklace and floral wristlet served as the crowning touches. While the multi-tiered lace trim and relaxed cut comfortably conceal figure flaws, it could easily look bulky on camera, so we added subtle, hidden cinching at the waist to keep body lines sleek and fluid.

The lighting conditions on the day of the Seaside photography were quite challenging. Seaside sunlight between 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM is harsh, and overhead top-lighting casts unflattering, rigid shadows across the face. Therefore, we chose to start shooting around 4:00 PM, when the light softened into warm golden hues and the ocean revealed a stunning azure blue. To capture the dynamic, fluttering motion of the skirt hem, we rode the natural sea breeze augmented by a portable mini fan. The tri-colored balloons in white, green, and blue held in my hand served as vital visual props—they lent the frame an airy lightness while harmoniously echoing the colors of the dress and the sea.

In terms of pose direction, because the loose garment could look bulky if posed carelessly, I consciously used body language to elongate proportions—such as holding the brim of the hat with one hand, stretching an arm upward to raise the balloons, or slightly lifting one leg into a buoyant strolling posture. These poses not only highlighted the details of the straw hat and dress, but also elongated leg lines against the beach backdrop. Balancing on the sand was actually quite difficult, especially in heeled sandals, so I kept reminding myself to engage my core and steady my center of gravity. When waves rolled in, I had to be vigilant not to let the seawater soak the dress hem and sandals, so every step was calculated with utmost care.

Finally, in post-processing color grading, to align with the Summer Time Rendering aesthetic, I lowered the overall contrast slightly and lifted shadow values, giving the images that airy, translucent Japanese-style feel.

This Wuthering Waves Phoebe Cosplay shoot truly helped me rediscover that effortless summer lightness. From coordinating accessories to selecting props, every single detail underwent deliberate refinement. Although the sea breeze was fierce and sand constantly blew onto my shoes and dress, seeing the captures on the camera screen made every bit of effort worth it.
