[Black Swan cosplay] Honkai: Star Rail's Phantom of the Dark Night

When shooting this Black Swan cosplay, the overall set design leaned toward a dark gothic aesthetic, with purple-toned lighting perfectly accentuating the character's mysterious allure. The costume is rich in detail—from the cut-out mesh and lace trim on the fitted corset, to the metallic bows and heart-shaped trinkets adorning the chest and waist, all the way to the gem choker around the neck. Every single piece required meticulous adjustment before getting in front of the camera to ensure flawless visual presentation.

To faithfully capture the character's temperament, I chose a long silver-to-white gradient wig paired with purple eye makeup. We prepared tarot card props for the shoot, utilizing a vintage sofa and ornate rugs to build an opulent yet languid atmosphere. The most demanding part of this Purple style outfit was the pair of Over-the-knee boots adorned with metallic bows; the shafts were snug and paired with high heels, requiring great care when walking. Sitting down or lifting a leg demanded deliberate angular control, stretching the contours to showcase the perfect proportions between the costume and leg lines.

Throughout the shoot, the photographer cast varied warm and cool rim lights, creating a stunning sheen on the purple tulle veil and black Over-the-knee boots. Because the costume reveals considerable skin, careful concealing and base prep were essential before shooting to achieve a translucent look under intense studio lights. The character's palette leans toward a deep purple-and-black Purple style outfit with an innate aloofness, so in terms of posing, I incorporated gestures like covering part of the face with cards and tilting my head in a focused gaze, striving to capture that enigmatic diviner vibe.

During post-processing, I specifically dialed in the highlights and shadows to create greater harmony in the purple tones and enhance the metallic gleam across the costume. While maintaining those challenging postures—such as bending the knees for long durations to accentuate the leg lines in Black stockings—was physically demanding, seeing the final outcome was deeply gratifying. I hope everyone can feel the dark, lavish charm we aimed to convey through this look.
