[Jeanne d'Arc cosplay & Jalter cosplay] Fate/Grand Order 12-Hour Extreme Seaside Location Shoot

Putting on full-body gear for Jeanne d'Arc cosplay and Jalter cosplay and driving 80 kilometers to the seaside, facing strong sea breezes and moss-covered reef rocks, the challenge of this Seaside location shoot was destined from the very beginning.

Chains, chokers, specially crafted metal headpieces, and that white war flag held in hand that had to be held steady against the wind—every detail reminded me that this outdoor shoot was not only about recreating the characters, but also about dealing with a real wild environment. The intertidal landform at the beach provided us with a fantastic natural background; moss-covered slippery reefs, mirror-like puddles left behind after the tide receded, along with azure skies and intense light, placed extremely high demands on lighting setup and reflector coordination.

Actually, the most energy-consuming part was finishing those bound-style visual frames on the reefs. To restore that sense of struggle and conflict, ropes and chains needed repeated adjustments—balancing authentic visual effects without being tied too tightly to affect blood circulation, or too loose causing props to slip off. Striking kneeling and sitting poses on uneven, rough rocks while constantly maintaining proper character expressions, often holding a posture on slippery moss for a long time for a single angle, severely tested core strength in this Black stockings cosplay presentation.

Everyone went through an extremely long standby, totaling nearly twelve hours. From packing gear before dawn to wrapping up exhausted at sunset, we repeatedly adjusted styling, fought fierce winds blowing our hair, and constantly tracked sunlight shifts. Although we missed our most anticipated sunrise hour and the wind made everyone's eyes turn red, this seaside setting baked by the blazing sun actually gave our photos a rugged edge distinct from studio shoots.

Duo shoots test tacit teamwork most, but fortunately our coordination remained seamlessly in sync. Whether exchanging glances when handing over the war flag or supporting each other in bound postures, we intuitively knew how to coordinate without needing words. In those shots from photo 4 and photo 5, we actually completed candid captures on reefs where balance was extremely difficult. Paired with flags fluttering in the wind, with water and reflections positioned just right, that visual feel of being imprisoned yet standing side-by-side felt profoundly touching in Fate/Grand Order lore.

This experience heavily polished our physical stamina and patience—from styling prep to long-distance driving, and handling complex natural seaside lighting—all thanks to the photographer's precise snaps and team synergy. Although a few planned dynamic shots couldn't be captured perfectly, returning home with these minor regrets while looking at the final renderings—showing textured rough coasts, wind-blown hair strands, and sunlight casting bright highlights on heavy chains—made that sense of authenticity incomparably precious.
