[Sunna cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero: Mint Kitten Studio Shoot Log

For this Zenless Zone Zero Sunna cosplay session, the visual core was anchored directly around the 'Mint kitten' theme. To capture her unique blend of futuristic tech accents and soft, adorable feline charm, every facet from wardrobe to props underwent meticulous pre-production.

Starting with the wig and headpieces: Sunna's hair features a low-saturation pale mint green with gentle wave textures. I worked closely with a stylist to shape blunt bangs and face-framing layers, ensuring the wig hugged my facial contours naturally. The cat-ear headband was the soul of the look, designed with white faux fur, pastel pink inner lining, and delicate white lace trim along the edges. I embellished the headband with whimsical acrylic clips shaped like little ghosts and green stars to inject playful dynamism. An inverted black triangle mark was applied to the center of my forehead, while the eye makeup was drawn outwards and complemented by heavy, flushed blush to evoke a delicate, manga-esque vulnerability.

The garment details were remarkably intricate. The top is a navy short-sleeve bodice with puffed sleeves, finished with white lace hems at the cuffs and a white cat face print on the right sleeve. A white lace apron-style bib accents the chest below a structured mandarin collar, tied off with a bold red bow and a bright yellow metallic bell that chimed softly with each step. The bottom half features a navy pleated miniskirt revealing a glimpse of white lace petticoat beneath, with a green cat-head charm dangling from the left hem that swayed gently in motion.

The legwear was easily my favorite ensemble element: over-the-knee White stockings with black zigzag sawtooth cuffs, accented on the left thigh by a black strapped garter adorned with silver buckles and miniature badges. Layered over these were white knit slouch socks tied with petite red bows, paired with monochrome black-and-white canvas sneakers for rich visual depth. Across my shoulders, I carried a bright red backpack featuring a massive white cartoon animal face, out of which sprouted translucent glossy white wings that caught the studio strobes with a retro plastic toy sheen.

The props prepared for the shoot were equally deliberate. Alongside the red pack, I brought a vintage-style teal-and-white toy camera. Posing with it beside my cheek or kneeling into a candid snapshot pose instantly brought interactive charm to the composition. The true highlight, however, was our guest star: a grey-and-white long-haired cat with striking blue eyes and a delightfully languid temperament. It snuggled peacefully in my arms without fussing, or sat contentedly on the white pedestal allowing me to stroke its head. The soft fur texture contrasted against the mint green and deep navy palette yielded stunning results. Photographer Haiyang dialed in pristine, clean key lighting against the pure white cyclorama wall, sharpening the contrast between the mint hair and dark navy fabric while preserving every nuance of the lace ruffles and white stockings.

Moving through the poses while attending to both the cat's mood and prop alignment was physically demanding, but seeing the finished frames showcase every planned detail so flawlessly made every bit of preparation and teamwork deeply fulfilling.
