The theme for this shoot was set around 'Elation.' To embody this concept, we abandoned conventional, exaggerated laughter, opting instead for body language that conveys languid mystery with a subtle touch of aggressive allure. For attire, I chose a modernized Japanese-style garment dominated by a red, black, and gold palette; the halter backless cut paired with a black leather choker delivered an intense visual impact. The wide furisode-style sleeves looked exceptionally opulent when spread out to reveal their gilded patterns. To balance the intricate complexity of the upper body, the lower half was paired with white tights and red lace-up high heels, where the red ribbons winding from ankle to calf formed a striking contrast against the white base.

The set was staged at Zhengzhou Shiyue Cosplay Experience Hall. The practical studio design was crafted with immense care: a massive crimson sun folding screen, cascading wisteria blossoms, red maple leaves, along with paper parasols and lanterns scattered across tatami mats and white gravel, constructing a vibrant yet clearly delineated space. While shooting, I explored varied poses to coordinate with these props. For instance, sitting on the floor while using the high-slit hemline to extend my legs forward elongated leg contours beautifully. Holding the Fox mask in hand or resting a tilted parasol against my shoulder lent rich balance to the composition. When standing, lifting one leg while fully extending my arms allowed the drape of the long sleeves and hemline to unleash dynamic visual grace.

For every formal photoshoot, makeup and lighting dictate the overarching quality. To harmonize with the red-and-black palette, the eyeshadow and lips were treated with heightened chromatic contrast, with red dots under the eyes serving as the finishing touch. Studio lighting relied primarily on warm yellow and side rim lights, sculpting three-dimensional depth effortlessly across the red garments and fair skin. In reclining or leaning postures, I paid strict attention to keeping my spine engaged—maintaining core support even when appearing relaxed ensures bodily curves flow organically. Post-processing favored preserving authentic skin texture and rich, deep color tones without excessive airbrushing, retaining the natural sheen of the fabrics.

Executing a full photoshoot—from early conceptualization and styling design to maintaining high energy on set and fine-tuning color grading—demands seamless teamwork. Shiyue and I constantly discussed posing nuances throughout the session, such as whether wearing the Fox mask on the face, holding it in hand, or pinning it beside the hair produced the best effect, each yielding an entirely distinct vibe. Though physically demanding, seeing the final images confirmed every ounce of effort was worthwhile. This aesthetic not only preserves my interpretation of Japanese style cosplay motifs, but also captures the untamed, liberated freedom I sought to express.
