[Flandre Scarlet Cosplay] Touhou Project's Scarlet Devil Mansion Doll: Sitting Alone Before a Red Backdrop

Hearing that line, 'Always leaving me all alone like this,' truly resonated with me. This time, I shot Flandre Scarlet from Touhou Project. To convey the character's porcelain, doll-like texture, extensive effort went into the styling and Doll makeup. The base foundation was made very pale, paired with red colored contacts and blush, drawing the eyes slightly larger. The golden-blonde wig was paired with an oversized red ruffled cap, creating a strong visual impact. The costume is a voluminous red-and-white dress with multi-tiered skirt layers that spread out with great shape when seated on the floor. For the shoot, I specifically wore white lace White stockings and red leather shoes, making the leg and foot lines look harmonious on camera. The photographer prepared a black stand hung with colorful crystal prisms, along with a teddy bear as props. We shot in front of a solid red backdrop; the red cloth combined with the red dress made the entire color palette deeply saturated. During the shoot, I constantly had to adjust my sitting posture because the expansive skirt easily covered my legs, testing numerous poses. To convey that sense of abandoned loneliness, I kept a straight face without smiling, maintaining a vacant gaze. We took both high-angle overhead shots and eye-level shots; high angles showcased the umbrella-like dome structure of the skirt, while eye-level framing better captured that quiet, slightly yandere gaze. Holding this expression across multiple takes left my facial muscles somewhat sore. Post-processing retained the vignette halo effect of the red background, keeping visual focus centered on the subject. Huge thanks to the photographer for capturing the right moments; I'm thoroughly satisfied with the overall vintage Doll aesthetic.
