I prepared for this Mid-Autumn shooting project for a long time. To align with the persona of Kaguya from Cosmic Princess Kaguya! while infusing a touch of traditional festive spirit, I deliberately selected this crimson cross-collar sleeveless garment. For the wig, I went with a long, straight pale pink style; dealing with a wig of this length demands immense patience, especially when shaping the curves of the bangs and side locks with hair pomade and a flat iron to keep the fibers silky, lustrous, and sturdy enough to support the black crescent moon headdress on top without slipping.

The makeup also incorporated extensive detailing. Because the character's design features remarkably spirited eyes, I wore reddish-brown colored contacts, accentuated the eye socket contours, applied pronounced lower false lashes, and blended reddish-brown eyeshadow to enlarge the eyes. The base emphasized a clean, translucent glow, paired with a glossy lip glaze to elevate radiance. Highlighters were dusted over the nose tip and cheekbones to sculpt three-dimensional facial folding on camera. The makeup's core focus was channeling depth in the gaze and crisp definition across facial features.

The garment details were equally exquisite. The crimson bodice fabric features subtle jacquard textures that look gorgeous under lighting, adorned with white floral appliqués across the chest and waist flanks. The inner layers and side accents incorporate bright green fabric as a striking color-contrast pairing, while the black wide obi belt accented with metal hardware and golden back ornaments provides formidable visual layering. When dressing, placing the belt properly was paramount—it needed to contour the bodily silhouette without constricting breathing or hindering dynamic poses.

Today's shoot was divided into several movement sets to highlight different facets of the costume. The first set positioned my hands on either side of the head with palms forward, fully framing the neckline cut and the belt's texture while naturally bracketing the face. Later, I shot peace signs and clenched-fist gestures primarily to heighten viewer interaction. The setup utilized overhead lighting paired with side fill lights, softening facial shadows while ensuring accurate chromatic rendition of the red and green fabrics.

In terms of pose adjustments, because of the sleeveless cut, arm positioning could easily expose underarm tension or unflattering skin folds. During the session, I consciously reached my arms slightly forward, gently dropped my shoulders, and kept my spine straight, ensuring the silhouette lines remained fluid. Furthermore, since I wore long manicured nails, I curled my fingers slightly during gestures to prevent them from looking stiff.

The entire shoot avoided forced, exaggerated poses, prioritizing refined detail presentation and authentic character embodiment instead. Wearing this Traditional Chinese style cosplay attire to portray an anime character during the special occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival felt deeply meaningful. Every glimmer across the accessories in the frame came from tireless pre-shoot calibrations of positioning.
