The physical try-on experience for Sparkle's new costume was even more satisfying than imagined. Unboxing the delivery, my first impression was that the fabrics and accessories had a very solid quality. This brand-new look for Lady Sparkle from Honkai: Star Rail features a red, black, and gold color palette that is visually striking. Since this try-on session was mainly to check the cut and fit, the nail polish and tattoo stickers are still on the way and couldn't be equipped, making this a pure bare-faced Cosplay fitting. The first thing I did after putting it on was adjust the belt and rope knots. The costume's construction is quite intricate, especially the combination of the massive golden rope knot at the waist paired with blue spherical tassels; the front and back tie design not only secures the outfit but also adds layers to the overall look. The cuffs feature a lightweight pink gauze splicing, which, combined with the fabric's natural drape, creates an airy flutter when walking—faithfully capturing the character's light and playful vibe. However, since it's just a try-on, I adjusted the shoulder strap tension slightly so as not to dig into my shoulders.
Trying the second red-and-black style gave me a completely different experience. Switching into this look with asymmetrical black stockings and thigh rings truly brought a totally different aura. The stocking material has great elasticity without squeezing flesh, and the thigh ring stays securely fixed without slipping during poses. The black platform shoes on my feet complement the overall dark aesthetic, enhancing the character's mysterious tone. The crisscross tie design at the neckline is another highlight, flattering the body line and making the wearer look refined and neat.
The fox mask is one of the core props of this fitting. The red-and-white color combination and intricate cheek markings look fantastic whether held in hand or worn on the face. Although it's just the fitting stage, standing in front of the mirror with the mask on naturally evokes the character's elusive, drama-loving unique temperament. The prop is also very lightweight, causing no fatigue during long photoshoots, which is a big plus.
Speaking of minor regrets regarding details, as mentioned in my title, the tattoo stickers and nail polish haven't arrived yet. Nail polish texture is actually quite crucial for completing the overall cosplay makeup and look, especially when paired with high-saturation outfits like this, where fingertip details instantly elevate overall refinement. Tattoo stickers are even more of a soul element for this character; although it looks slightly plain without them now, it leaves me with high expectations for the full shoot later.
This costume comes from Sanfen Wangxiang. In terms of craftsmanship, whether it's the crisscross front collar design or the floral print on the skirt, it's clear a lot of care went into recreating the original work. The stitching is neat without loose threads. The biggest fear during a try-on is unbalanced proportions, but fortunately, this outfit controls waistline and sleeve length precisely. Standing in front of the mirror, looking at the reflection, I could really feel myself drawing closer to the character.
Regarding shoes, the red strappy high-heeled sandals in Pictures 1 and 3 are definitely a leg-lengthening weapon. However, because the instep area is quite narrow, wearing them for long periods might feel slightly tight, though these minor discomforts are acceptable for the visual effect. In contrast, the black platform shoes in Picture 2 are much friendlier—the soles are soft, making them easy to stand in without tiring, perfect for anime conventions or long shoots.
Overall, the Cosplay fitting experience was extremely enjoyable. Even though it was just simple mirror selfies without fancy lighting or polished makeup, the moment I adjusted the collar, tightened the belt, and put on the fox mask, I could truly feel the fun of Anime cosplay. From garment structure to accessory combinations, every step gradually polishes the character creation process. The fitting session is like a warmup before the official shoot, helping to plan poses and expressions better for the main photoshoot through these actual impressions. Overall, this cosplay outfit excels in fit and accuracy. For players who love this character, being able to wear such a carefully crafted outfit to bring the character to life is a joyful experience in itself. While some key decorative details are currently missing from the photos, I'm confident the results will be even better once all equipment arrives.
