[Cyrene cosplay] Honkai: Star Rail: Dreamy photo set Photoshoot Details & Reflections

This Honkai: Star Rail Cyrene cosplay Dreamy photo set was shot in a studio with soft pink and purple tones. Pre-shoot preparation mainly focused on the wig, costume, and props: the gradient blue at the tips of the hair needed to be detangled and smoothed out, sprayed with styling spray before being fixed into place. Finding the support point for the halo headpiece was tricky—it had to fit the curve of my head perfectly while coordinating with the placement of the Elf ears so as not to block my face. The outfit features an exceptionally puffy white tulle dress with an openwork outer layer and a deep V-back design. Putting it on required careful attention to cinching the straps to accentuate a slim waist while ensuring no extra shoulder straps were exposed.

The studio set featured extensive pink and purple drapery, Roman columns, and a profusion of flowers. The lighting was set as a backlight, casting soft halos along the edges of my hair and the drapery, making the overall image look gentle. The focus of this shoot was highlighting leg contours and the waistline; wearing thigh straps and short socks, I opted for a seated pose leaning back on the floor, extending my legs outward and utilizing the drape of the skirt to add depth and layering. The skirt hem was massive, making standing up after sitting quite strenuous, requiring constant adjustments to the dress's positioning. I specifically practiced over-the-shoulder glance and side-seated poses—tucking the chin slightly with an upward gaze to make the eyes appear large and expressive, while perfectly displaying the openwork back design. The pose leaning against the plush cushion in photo 3 was designed to make the areas obscured by the legs look natural while highlighting the drape of the fabric.

The entire gear felt quite heavy on the day of the shoot; the combined weight of the wig and the halo was considerable, leaving my neck and shoulders quite sore by the end of the day. In post-processing for this Cosplay photography work, priority was placed on preserving the textures of the costume and props alongside the layers of the hair, avoiding excessive smoothing. The pink-purple gradient effect is something I personally love, and though exhausting throughout, the overall experience was fantastic.
