The direct reason for shooting this Qipao Nian set was that this design is simply so distinctive. White hair and red horns paired with a white modified Qipao—this striking palette of red, white, and black yielded exceptional visual depth against the dark red maple leaf backdrop. The actual shooting process was far more complicated than imagined. First of all, the massive prop greatsword and circular base were genuinely heavy; holding them while maintaining balance and trying to look effortless and graceful while posing took immense effort, with every muscle engaged. The Qipao features a high-slit design paired with white pointed-toe high heels, a combination that places demanding requirements on leg and core strength. During the shoot, I had to keep my leg lines toned while stabilizing my balance to prevent toppling sideways. To showcase flattering body proportions and slender leg contours, the photographer deliberately chose slightly high-angle or eye-level perspectives. The red leaves and warm yellow lighting on set were the crowning touch; the warm glow falling across the white silk fabric formed a wonderful warm-cool contrast with the dark wooden folding screen. The red gloves and scale-like patterns on my hands also tested our attention to detail, requiring considerable time to neaten the patterns along the forearms. Styling the long hair with pointed ears was also quite tedious, as I had to control the flow of the hair strands to avoid obscuring the embroidery details on the costume. To wait for the perfect lighting angle, we repeatedly adjusted my positioning on set, coordinating with the photographer to establish the best composition that both highlighted leg lines and ensured the massive prop sword was fully framed. The entire process put both stamina and patience to the test, yet it was deeply fulfilling. The garment's fabric has a premium texture and the tailored cut hugs the silhouette, maximizing the character's commanding aura; combined with the uniquely shaped greatsword, the final shots were ideal in both lighting and atmosphere. This also deepened my understanding of the character; the shooting experience of this entire collection was profoundly immersive, perfectly matching my original vision for this character from Arknights.
